I am not a big fan of stories (reading them or typing them) but this one cannot go without mentioning.
Last Sunday our team (Monkey Business) participated in a local 3-man tounament. We rocked most of the day and eventually won 1st place, but that isn't the point of this story. One of our final games of the prelims was against a pretty good team that we needed to beat. We got in the staging area and walked to our starting point. Dave, one of my teammates, fired his spyder and the gun burped. He tried a couple times to fire and it did this burping repetedly. We panicked and asked the head judge for a delay. The judge gave us exactly one minute to remedy the problem before the game would be started. We ran to a bench and took the airsource and hopper off the broken spyder to put it on a back up gun, but there wasn't enough time. The ref said the game would start anyway. All 3 of us lined up at the starting point, Dave was carrying just the bare gun (no tank or hopper) because the rules required that every player have a gun. The whistle blew and Dave ran straight up the middle, grabbed the flag, and ducked behind a bunker. Mike, another teammate, and I stood in plain view pounding the other team as they ran for the bunkers. Off the break one of their guys was eliminated. Mike held a steady flow of paint on the two remaining players while I rushed up the right tape eliminating the other two players. The flag was hung by Dave and the game was over. We maxed that game and didn't lose anyone on our team. The best part about it was the game only lasted about 20 seconds.
