I'm not sure what comes with the base model for $425. I assume just like what the picture shows which includes the gadget grip, but you would probably wanna call them to find out for sure.
But I would recommend the Impulse with VFF, Blade Trigger, and Vertical Reg. for $500, I think that is the best bang for your buck.
www.paintballgear.com has impy with foregrip (not the barrel plug one though) for $400

Well instead of me trying to explain it all to you, check out this Impulse FAQ, it will answer all your questions and then some.

I would very highly recomend you get a VERTICAL REG Impulse rather then a bottom line reg. There is a very small difference in price and a work of difference in the packages. In fact, I would be willing to bet that if you bought a verticl reg impulse and decided to trade for a bottom line, you would be able to get twice as much as you paid difference back for one of the hundreds of fokes out there that have the bottom line and want the vertical.
The vert set up allows you may different options on mounting your air source (you are not limited to a screw in tank, and you can add a on/off adapter for a screw in tank if you want) The Vert set up is also much better balanced. and IF you decide to go to the VFF/AFF to get the best preformance from your Impulse, or decide to play with a LPR set up, you don't have to "start over" on your reg set up. ( with a bottomline reg, the gas tru grip will NOT work with a VFF and the easiest way to go to a LPR set up is to use the vertical reg to mount your Reg.)

if that is all you want...just a vert reg and nothin else.....then u can just call them because that is a super easy order and u'll get it really quickly....but if you have a little extra dough then i say go for the VFF/Blade/vert. max-flo deal because in my mind that is a GREAT deal for 500 american:D

Hey cris, I ordered my Rat too, yesterday, and I am over in Wilmington (Hurricane Alley) so we should get together and play PB sometime =). That is unless you live in the mountains... I am not going to drive out that far LoL.
E-paintballoutlet.com has Vert Reg Imps for $450, its right below the standard Impulse. But for $50 more you can add on a Blade Trigger and VFF, so I'd do that instead.

ender i live in raleigh, we SHOULD hook up sometime......not now though..i gots no $$ now that i bought my impy..did u get the Rat?..thought u just wanted vert reg...but it's ALL good:love: :D :agree: :agree:
Slug-- E-pb matches prices, so its not "cheaper" plus read the disclaimer that PB Gear has on the Impulses-- basicly they are saying they are selling the guns "AS IS" if you have a problem "don't call us- call SP" Is that the type of place you wnat to deal with.
Anything you buy is set up and tested. any goodies you by are installed free by certifed techs. It takes about an extra hour and 400-500 paintballs before e-pb ships a gun. Most other shops don't even open the box- let alone set up and test the gun. Did you know that PBgear will sell you an Anti syphon tank WITHOUT EVERN HAVING YOUR GUN? How can a anti syphon be set up for your gun -if they don't have your gun???

LOL, I always wondered about that. What keeps them from setting it up so the tube points straight down when you screw it it?
Ohwell, e-paint is the best place around hands down. I wish there was one out here with the same cool people, service and qualitly, I'd love to work/shop there.

In the online world for Impy's it look like FOM and the boys are pretty much tops.
I have to give credit to the brick and morter store of Pro Paintball in Victor New York. Ethan, Buddy and Chris there are top rate guys and have always stopped what they were doing to work on my stuff the moment I walk in. And Etahn always has good advise on just about everything related to paintball.
In case you didn't know, Pro Paintball is also the home of the FreeFlow Autococker and Team Lockout. (I know heresy talk in the impy forums)
They set me up with my Impy and I can't thank them enough for their awesome service!
