Does the field you play at allow bunkering? Why or why not?

Where i play and ref we do not allow bunkering, one b/c if you bunker some little kid who's never played before it'll hurt and two he may never come back b/c he'll leave with a negative view on paintball.

Well what happens if you charge some bunker or advance on the kid while he's just sitting there? Generaly the ref will call out the kid whos just sitting there and let the aggressive player have the bunker but mostly both players are eliminated.

It's part of the game really, if it's a 2v1 etc against a new player then the new player should get a chance just call themself out. But overall bunkering is part of the game, if you can get up 2v1, or 3v2, you should use whatever tactic you can to win. If you don't wanna get hit, don't play.

Yep, I’m in the same situation as you are. The majority of the players that play on the fields are first timers with a small percentage of experienced players (about 1/11 has played before). Most of the newcomers won’t surrender after being bunkered, since the field rule is 15” shooting distance, the owner doesn’t want people getting terrified and shooting people at close range.

Ignorance is bliss I guess

15" That seems kind of useless... I hope you meant 15 feet.

my field incourages people to bunker other people... KINDA>..if its the normal croud they want you to bunker each other so they can be lyk DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN did you see that... lyk the superman type of bunkers. but if its newbies out there, the owner doesn't want us bunkering him, cuz they myte not want to come back out because of the fear of getting hit so close again...

15ft? That's stupid....the difference between 3 ft and 15ft means nothing, it's still gonna sting no matter what. Heh...I bet if you bunker them and just keep shooting them till they call themselves out they'd surrender. 15ft is excessive, that means the guy hiding behind his bunker can sit there forever, because you cant shoot at him close, you have to move yourself out into the open to be far enough away. I wouldn't play at that field...

depends on the type of game and players involved. if there is a local tourney team out there, sure why not, makes for more action. if its just rec players out to have fun, nah . . .

Our field posted 10 feet no bunkering with exceptions. Meaning when your out there if both teams or the group says you can do it then you can.
But to go out and do new comers etc is not aloud on the field

Our field does not allow bunkering, but has a rule where if you get to within 10 feet of someone (Or get close enough) that you give them the option of surrendering, otherwise just shoot a paintball low if they don't (We usually tell them the foot, but it doesn't always happen that way).

My field seperates new players from experienced ones. The new ones play on one field, and about 10 tournament players from local teams usually show up and play on the hyperball field. As such, bunkering isn't a problem, since everyone is ok with it

At my field what they encourage is embarrasment. If there are experienced players we bunker, but when we play with newbies there is a 10 ft surrender rule or the ol' fashioned embarrasment rule, you run up to them and kick them in the behind lightly, it makes you laugh while you're playing. Hes not paying attention *SMACK* Now he pays attention

hmm, they didn't enforce that when i went.
i used to be a bunker maniac and go bunker people whenever i could. but it really doesn't take any skill, i get much more gratification snap shooting people.
but we can bunker people at the local field. actually, it's encouraged there too, lots of tourney players practice there and some reff. it's accepted, even the noobies do it.
