View Full Version : Front Bolt of Custom
Don't think that I'm crazy or anything, but what would happen if I took out my Front Bolt?
What I mean is, "Would the marker still fire? Would it work properly? ect.."
Please don't reply if you have not taken the front bolt out before and tried it.
-Thanks:D

Yes, this actually works BUT it makes the gun sometimes fire 2 or 3 balls because there is more room in the breech when you take it out
It is not effective at all, because a lot of the gas goes up the elbow. Not only that, but good luck getting it chronoed at an indoor 250fps field... let alone outdoors at 280!

since we're on the topic of bolts, are after market bolts for the 98c worth it?
I heard that the 98 bolt was just perfectly fine. But that's what I heard:rolleyes:
Yes, the bolt is fine. A venturi-styled bolt on a Tippmann styled assembly is worthless. Unlike those other designs, the air doesn't go through the bolt. It goes through the powertube.
In order to have ANY true venturi bull, you need a venturi-styled powertube!

ok,
meph, do u have an aftermarket bolt?
Yeah, but the design is pretty much the same as the stock bolt. It was the PB powertube and front bolt combo. I bought it when it came out for the M98. Because when I bought my M98, it had a really bad metal powertube. A lot of us older owners can tell you about these.
The front bolt that came with it is the exact same except that it's metal, and it has a "teflon seal' around the back end to grip tight on the powertube. However, it's really pointless. There's no benefit from stock to this bolt from what I've noticed.
Hell, with basically ANY gun, there's no real difference between stock and aftermarket bolts. Even autocockers, their best bolt is stock bolt basically.
