View Full Version : Uh-Oh, no CO2...

There is no sound more dreaded in a paintball game than when you run out of co2 and your gun half fires several times because there is not enough pressure to recock the gun. Can you unscrew your gun in a game, fire several times to use up the co2 and have your marker make that noise, then screw your tank back on very quickly and hope someone charges your bunker hoping to make an easy kill? Then when they charge you you can pick them off much to their surprise, or have a buddy with you in case you can't get your tank on before they get there. Has anyone tried unscrewing their tank in a game for this purpose? Did it work?

Interesting idea but unfortunately once you unscrew the tank the seal will be broken and all the gas in the gun will come out from the bottom line(or wherever the tanks been screwed into).
The only way this could work is if you have an on/off valve and turn it off, use up the gas in the gun, and than quickly turn it back on, and wait for the sorry chaps who think they've got an easy kill:)
Mind you I've never tried this but its worth a shot.

Well, if you do it right, you wont freeze the orings on your tank. But, the time it takes for you to do that, loss of concentration (to take it off your opponent, and look at your tank), and chance you wont get your tank back on in time before they get to you, etc. Makes it, IMHO, not worth the trouble. I would rather be a bit more patient and shoot the target when they make a mistake.

I heard of a cool technique somewhat similar to that one. You take your gun and fire a couple balls, and then hold it upside down and fire blanks for a few shots. To an experienced player, it sounds like your hopper is empty. He rushes your bunker to get an easy kill, and you pick him off easy as pie.

Sounds like you'r hopper is empty?
I don't think so, It makes a different noise than if you fire right side up, but lots of times dry firing is just to put players heads down before you move.

I'm sorry but it just sounds like a lame attempt to make a kill, as opposed to how the rest of us do it.

what's wrong with a little imagination? Besides I bet if it worked it would make the guy that got shot think twice about lighting up an unarmed opponent from 5 feet. If anything it is the person who gets duped into charging who is playing dirty. I just thought about this and wanted to know if it was even allowed or if anyone had ever thought of this.

That turn the hopper upside down trick don't even fly with me. If they don't pop up and shoot and I can't see if there out or not then I wont bunker them. Hell I do that trick all the time at the field here.
The out of air trick don't work too well with me either. But I can't do that out of air one too well.My marker dont fart like a blow back

if those tricks dont work, then u just end up lookin kinda stupid. but hey, if it does work, than it was worth the risk
another one is after u run out of balls or C02 then just start trying to sneak up on people and make them surrender

Actually there is a way to make that sound...and in 5 seconds be ready to shoot again.
You have to own a Remote, and that remote must have an ON/OFF vaulve.
Just untwist your on/off vavlue on your C02 and fire your gun a couple times, it will empty the air outta your gun and make that sound of emptying C02 sputter. Then just twist back on your ON/OFF Vauvle and your ready to fire again.
if you have a powerfeed you could just twist the little ball stop deely and dry fire a couple of times then start screaming hysterically and calling for help, then when the jerk tries to bunker you just pop around the other saide and light his a$$ up

Who is it that makes a dual-bottle setup? Get one, then run cartriges and a tank at the same time- turn off the tank- let the gun run out- then wait on them to try to bunker you. OR, start with cartriges- then put a tank in when it runs out. Then. BAM. There is always CO2 left in it- my favorite anti-newbie trap is when I run out of air, I recock my gun and let the tank warm up. They run up- and by then, I have 10 more shots.

actualy...if you have a remote and you unscrew the little wheel at the top that turns the air on.....and fire about 5 shots it will do the machine gun thing and then screw it back in....i like to do that in speedball games and when the guy runs to bunker you you capp his a $$......you wouldnt believe how good it works......that or out of the side of the bunker kinda let your squeegie show and wave it a little bit....they think you are cleaning your gun and you can do the same thing....they actualy work...try them :)

This little trick can be easily accomlished by purchasing a slide check(if your running C02 without a remote, get a anti-siphon, keep your gun liquid free), it will cut off the flow, not waste gas, and you can be up and going as fast as you can move the slide check.
BTW with PMI remotes I know(when I ran C02 prior to my max flow) If you unscrew it to much you lose all the C02 in the remote.
Slide Check's or On/Off valves would be the fastest way to these, however no matter what you do, your cocker won't make that lil burrrrruppp sound you get with tippmans, mags, spyders etc.... Only I know when I'm out and it ain't pretty.
I've never been in a good position to run for a downed player, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone rush one. I always treat the game like you have paintballs weather your empty, on either balls or Air/C02o, It keeps me alive much longer.
