View Full Version : Pic of question
These scratches are the result of only shooting about 200 balls. Smart Parts put a new vertical feed on my Impulse (the other one broke off and the threads got messed) and i was wondering if that might do it. I looked in the tube of my gun and i didn't find any rough edges or anything. So is there anything wrong? Or is this normal? These are the two bolts; stock and new designz delrin bolt. I know there isnt' any dow 33 on the stock, i cleaned it off for the pic.

I played today in my local field and damn I love my parts that i just got 4 weeks ago...Sweet!!
I was shootin nice, didn't chop any paint with no Vision.
When i chronoed i notice first shot was a little low???Don't no y but everytime i shot the first shot i dry fire it so the 2nd shot will be normal not low. Over the chrono i was at 285 284 285...etc.
I love it....on the field i kick some major bouty.;)
So going back to these reply is that your bolt shouldn't be scratched.
alright that almost helped.........

don't worry, most impulses have the 'first shot' problem, its vey common for imps to fire their first shot low, possible ways of overcoming this are VFF, AFF, LPR mods, or tapeworm
Skog i have a VFF and FOM said it does not elimate the first shot problem. I think i have to get the LPR mod so i could elimate the first shot. I think FOM said that.:D
sorry, i was under the impression that vff eliminated the first shot problem, that was the main reason i was going to get vff at the end of this month, i think i'll have to reconsider now, thanks for the info, you may have saved me a lot of money, thanks

tgm-It sounds like you feed tube is tightened down to much. I suggest loosening it. When you move the bolt by hand can you feel a lot of friction?
You may have to heat up the loctite on the feed tube to get it loose. Make sure when you put it back on you do not make it to tight. Make sure your bolt moves freely. Oh yeah. Your pics did not show up, I just knew what you were talking about. I have actually locked an Impulse up because of this.

thanks weasel or whatever
I looked at the feed very extensively and decided it isn't screwed in too far. It seems some rough edges exsist from when the orignal feed tube broke off and i think i just need to smooth those down. I can get my finger nail between the end of the feeder and where the bolt assembly area is. I really do think it isnt' the vertical feed being screwed in.
