Spyders are awesome guns man if your gonna buy one though consider an Xtra. It costs more but i think it is awesome. Given my opinion may be just a little biased.

i can prove which gun is better for ME but not you.....

go to your local pb store and try out the guns. Find the one that is good for you and make sure you know everything about it(and the other gun). I'm the prode owner of a vtl and i can say it has more features then the compact(rear cocking,better lpc,strip pin) but still they are both great guns and a compact might be better for you. you have to make the choice, not me. No hard feelings or anything its just that its your money and choice and i want to make sure it is the best one for you.

Hey,i had exactly the same choice to make few day ago,compact or G2....finally i order a G2 cause it is rear cocking and have quick strip pin but the compact is a good gun to...

yeah i have a g2 vtl too they are great(the only problem i have had is air leaks but thats a very common thing with pb guns, also the barrel is fine but still) but its still your choice....

Ez8 is right, whichever one you like better will do better for you, but... I really can't think of any category where a Piranha is not better than a Spyder.
P.S. I own a Spyder Shutter, so my comment is not exactly biased.
