I need help. I have now narrowed down my gun choices to 2. Either a Spyder Shutter or a Spyder TL plus. Which one is better? would you recommend another gun? BTW, I am still a newbie, and I am sick of renting the cheap pro/carbines at my field, so I really want a good gun, that will hold up and shoot well. I play some speed ball and some woods ball, they are both good. Thanks for any help!

Well, if you really want a tough, reliable, solid gun, I'd go for a tippmann 98 - you won't be disappointed. If you're bent on going with a spyder, though, the shutter is probably better.

tl plus is 50 bucks cheaper than shutter
shutter is only good because people think that the crappy drop forward and the crappy regulator makes the gun way better than a tl plus
the only good thing bout the shutter is its anodizing

Here's what guns my friends and I use
Me and 2 other friends - started out with m98 customs - no problems whatsoever
Friend A - started with a blackmax (Pmi tracer) - it started to leak and didn't fire, so he took it back and got a rebel. After playing a round, the receiver became detached from the gun, and screwing the screw wasn't doing anything - it was all stripped, and not even the right size. He took that back, and got a viewloader genesis. After a week, it too started to fall apart. He took THAT back and got a m98 - no problems
Friend B - Bought a high-end piranha - no problems
Friend C - bought a shutter - it started to leak, then wouldn't work entirely - he's taking it back, and is probably gonna get a m98
Of course, these are isolated incidences, but choose your gun cautiously

Well, I think I might go for the M98 costom, but I have a question about it. Do you need to oil it after every round of paintball, or just at the end of the day? Cause I heard its a pain to "feild strip" or whatever. Thanks for the help. Oh yeah, and sorry for the newbie-ness, I just dont want to waste my money.
