Porting

I have a 98 custom with a stock barrel, but I am thinking of getting the Smart Parts Teardrop. Will the porting, on the teardrop, affect the volocity much? Keep in mind I don't have access to a chrono because the closest field is like an hour away.

it matters how long the barrel is, it will lower it a little because the stock barel is 8.5 in and you are looking alot of air with that so if you get a 14 in it will be shooting harder than it will with the stock (that is if you dont change the velocity.)

I was thinking of getting the 12in. Will I lose alot of range if I don't adjust the velocity?.

With the 14" a little more than the 12".

You should be within 10-20 fps. The effective length of the barrel is only going to be up to the porting...the rest of the barrel will just add some friction.
