Is it really worth the consequence NOT to wear a cup?

There is an article in the March issue of APG about paintball injuries in the groin area. No people have ever had serious testicular injury in pintball according to the doctor. He says a paintball will not crush your stuff and is not a blunt enough trauma to really hurt you. Believe it or not bike seats are the number one cause of injury to the testicles. It mentions a new player with an electro on full auto dropping his gun and shooting 8 shots into his groin. He quickly passed out.

that article was crude, one intern and he thinks he knows everything about paintball injuries, well, try telling that to my boys ... got hit in the nads three weeks ago, no cup, fairly close, ugly arse purple welt and I'm still peeing pus ... ain't no fun ... wear a cup.

i skate, play lacross and paintball, all major theats to my nuts, if i hit 'em(happens most in skateboarding followed by lacross) i go vomit from the pain, sit for 5 minutes, then resure play, in paintball i wear saggy pants so they just catch the paintball and my tisticles go unharmed

call me whimp if you want to,but i always wear a cup then i dont even have to think about getting hit there.

A lot of people will say that yer a wimp if you wear a cup. That's crap! I know when yer <20, you think yer invincible, but it's not worth the risk. A cup may be uncomfortable, but what's a little discomfort compared to walking funny for a month or longer?

I don't wear a cup, I do wear an athletic supporter though. I also wear JT cargo pants, a pair of shorts under the pants and say a prayer for my testes before every paintball game :)

wear a cup... why take a risk of a shot to the 'nads. I would wear two if that would make it hurt less. One for each 'nad.

I think a cup is kind of a screening process for genes. Those who don't wear cups(no offense to any of you) might not be the best candidates for having children anyways. The way I figure it is simple: if they are willing to neglect their own bodies, then just imagine what they would do if they had a kid. I know you are young and you think you are invincible, but do you really want to test to see if you are? When you are thirty, do you want to be regretting the fact that you are imputent because your testicles exploded (which will probably hurt a lot) due to a paintball accident, because you didn't wear a cup and thought you were invincible?
Bottom line is, are you really willing to risk it?

i take a sock and stuff stuf in it, cups r uncomderbull and i have been hit in the nuts with my sock and it was fine

I bet you wear the sock other times too just to exagerate some features that are less then adequate, nah j/k. I wore a sock once, but then I was shot at close range several times. Never again will I go without my trusty cup.

i wear a cup... never got shot there... but i am more aggressive now with a cup than before.... i'd say get one... it wont hurt if you get one... and besides raven came out with slider shorts with a foam cup, instead of plastic... i use regular slider shorts, with a rubber cup... provides more bounce when you get hit there...

it's a really good idea to wear a cup when you play paintball. i have a friend that got nailed in the nuts close range and ... the way he discribed the pain... makes you want to never leave home without them.

well anyway i don't wear a cup. mostly because they are really annoying and i can run as fast with em on. so i just wear baggy pants and i'm fine.
