Most rec players are walk ons, they use walk on rental equipment, they'd really be at a disadvantage if you started mowing them down with an electro set to full auto or burst ... But you're right in one aspect, if a site has enough fields, they should allow folks with autos and/or experience to play ... It's a shame that some folk spend that much on a marker and aren't able to use it to it's fullest capability.

Well the fields that I play at are selective about when they allow full-auto or burst.. Its okay when its a BIG game.. or Scenario.. tournies no.. walk-ons no.

At my feild they are allowed to use what ever they want on walk on games. I figure that if u are so bad that u need a full auto toget people out then thats too bad for u. Ive only played there once when a guy used fully auto and he was a **** about it. Ive played with the owners who both have angels and one even was on one of the world cup 2000 teams they dont even have full auto unlocked. I dont even think they put it on burst. I shot one of their angel but i didnt like the trigger it kinda scared me.

we let players who want to play full auto, play against each other. If its a walk on game they have to run on semi-auto like everyone else. If you don't do that you aren't playing paintball, your playing painrtball gun.

You have to realize that field owners are running a business though, and if your new players go out and get the crap ripped out of them by a full auto gun, chances are they won't be back.

Most players who have full auto guns never put them on burst or full auto anyways. You have less control of the target. A couple of people have angels on our team and I don't ever recall them wasting paint with the full auto on.

I believe I also remember hearing that full auto, burst, turbo etc... are also a liability to a field. Meaning that the chances of someone being injured are significantly higher with guns hammering out that much paint. Some insurance companies wouldn't back the fields if they allowed the different modes of fire.

It is primarily a safety issue. If you get hit in the mask at full auto, say 5-6 shots there are many things that can happen.

1. Your lens may crack before the burst ends and allow a pb to penetrate.
2. Your mask could get knocked off if your it is hit the right way that many times. Thats bad.

Finally, It definelty a turn off to newbies. Man if we think just being aggressive scares newbies... what about getting shot 5-6+ times. Man even as a vet I would get pretty pissed if that happened.

Bump a gun in full auto and it may fire up to 8 shots before the person can react. A barrel plug is only good to hold in 1 or 2 shots before popping off. See the problem?

all good arguments-i think its mostly the fact that it is detrimental to the owners income. if a first timer gets hit full auto- now ay he coems back. even if they see a field with all full auto in it, then see those people in their own game (regardless of the fact they arent using the full auto) they will be scared poopless

Ok just think about this, why in anybodies mind would you want to be shot 14 times by one person in less than 1 sec?

There was this kid at this field I play at who went blind in both eyes because his mask was literly shot off his face.

it is near impossible to get hit all 14 times. remeber these amrkers and paint arent that accurate, many wil not hit, but some will

Hey maybe not in 1 second, and there might be misses, but may be for 2-3 seconds, 14 shots could hit... and that would suck...

Wait a sec... even 5 or 6 shots would suck too.

hey wait another sec... acutally 2-3 times sucks too...

Hmmm... final note... getting shot sucks.

I disagree on playing against someone w/ full auto because anything could have happen in 2 seconds & many people will end up getting overshooted. And more people may will abuse the privilege of having full-auto markers.. I dont really see anything special about full auto. It lacks challenge, probably wont teach you new skills in the woods & not to mention it guzzles up your money.

also this year will be my 4th year. I dont find it fun to play against someone w/ full-auto. (trust me)

on friday I played against a guy with an auto angel. He plastered my bunker. Eventually I heard his gun going off, but nothing hitting, he was out of ammo. I stepped out, leisurely took aim, and I nailed him.

Full auto seems like it's just a way to blow paint, if I were a field owner. I would say FPO and let everyone go full auto, in fact, encourage it!

I play with a couple of guys with full auto, at least 4 that I can think of off the top of my head. We don't play at regulated fields and let them use full auto if they want, and they do:)

but we do try and split them up evenly.

martlet1, luv the sig, what is your avatar a pic of?

I disagree. You are shooting at a man-sized target and not a soda can. It would be easy to get shot up like crazy. Its not like they are that inacccuarte but they wont be performing to the full extent of semi auto

I also must add that I own a electro and I have never used full-auto it is a waste of paint and it chops like crazy without a ACE. Maybe it was my dwell setting but I put it to 6-shot burst once playing with my friends and it was a bad idea because I shot my friend over 10 times in a matter of like 1 second. He was very pissed. I think that shooting full auto is just pointless because of the lack of skill. Its more like a spray and pray game. I think its smart to ban it...I must say that I love the trigger on my bushmaster and I could still crank out a lot of balls but at least its not on full auto and I know when my opponent has been hit...thats my 2 cents...

This week I finally got to shoot an angel. When the guy handed me it it went off because the trigger pull was to light. I think fields don't allow them on fully because if it would go off in the parking lot a barrel plug is not gonna stop a burst of balls.

i actually asked the local field owner this question. He said its an insurance issue. He doesn't allow any full auto or burst guns. He will allow electronic trigger frames only if they have tourney lock.
