Steel Braid is stronger so go with it.

Well the only real answer to a question relating to paintball is, "That depends...".
Steel is stronger and will last longer. Macro is cheaper, much easier to install, much easier to take apart, much easier to replace, can be cut to the exact length, and is more flexible. I personally favor steel braided because it is stronger, but I always have some macro line and fittings in my kit just incase, because it's very versatile. With a few feet of macro, and two fittings, I can make any connection. If I wanted to do the same thing with steel hose, I'd have to keep a whole slew of different lengths on me. If I'm at a shop though, I'm getting steel.
So, it depends.
