Just went out for the first time a week ago....what a rush! I bought a TL+ and not even sure what kind of equip came with it. I know I need upgrade, alot different from shooting in the back yard. I know I need barrel and regulator (stabilizer? the same thing?). I've been reading alot of forums to try to understand on my own. Here's my thoughts, let me know if I'm off base. Barrel: J&J Ceramic 14", Regulator: Palmer Stabilizer. Not sure which type of Palmer to get for my marker. I've done nothing yet. What should I do after that? Please keep in mind I'm not very familiar with the definitions, acronyms and abbreviations. Thanks. Also, my stepson got a Custom 98 first, then decided he wanted the Tippman A-5 2002. We have already ordered but have not received yet. Any thoughts on A-5? I think he wanted it for looks.

You seem to be on the right track my friend. The first upgrade you should always get for a stock gun is a new barrel. The J&J ceramic is an excellent after market barrel for any spyder. There are also plenty of upgrades available to you without having to spend the $$$ too. If you look in the kingman forum there should be a thread stickied at the top with Hsuve's custom trigger mod. The whole process costs virtually nothing aside from the materials and your time, and with it you can greatly improve the quality of your trigger and your gun in general. It's really great stuff, and I'm really happy with the end result of my trigger. :)

Hi there. I got a TL+ too. A barrel is good. I got a diffrent barrel but thats ok. I looked at the custom trigger job and it worked like a charm. The long pull on it had been taken down to about 3/4 of a cm. You really need to stock up on o-rings and stuuf to keep it in shape just in case any of them tear on the field and no one has any to spare. Take it from me because this happened to me. I also got a shocktec spring kit. So if that the ref wants to cut some coils you can just chand the spring tension. Everything i wrote for u is all i can think of right now. I haven't encountered any other problems yet. I hope i helped you. Im also got my marker in decenber last year. So deal with these issues now or they will get you.

hi guys, I bought tl+ 6 months ago, and i have the same problem, than slim6ft. Which upgrade is important???
I've been reading a lot on these forums, and it seem that EVERYONE has a different opinion on the upgrades and equipement.
Still, I know that a new barrel is very important, but for the expansion chamber, regulator stuff, what's that, what's the purpose of that, where can I buy some? 'cause I want to upgrade my gun 'cause i passed an interview to be a paintball ref, and i would like to have a pretty good gun.

So if you guys can help me(links, informations, anything!!!) i would be thankful.

my bro has a tl+. he just got his, and is upgrading his as well. he's getting a 12 volt revolution hopper (revy. it agitates the balls so they load faster/always have a ball loaded when firing rapidly.) if you are shooting CO2, then u already have a mini expansion chamber. if you are shooting N2 (compresed air), then u should get a regulator. also, he is eventually getting a smart parts freak system. its the only barrel you need because u can change the bore size (inner part of barrel) to match any paintball, u can change the front from the freak to an all american (better front is AA), you can change length by buying different fronts, and if u wanna buy a new gun u can buy the back piece with the new threads. if u got the tippmann back as well, both u and your step son could use the barrel. it is a bit pricey but if u got the $$$ then it would be a wise investment. just my thoughts

U seem to be going in the rite direction my friend. Are u going to be runing co2 or n2, If u were going to go n2 then i would sugest a reg and a new valve (palmer makes a great, combo). After that i would check out bolts, (swancreek makes a great called the bandit) hmmmm lets see all this after u have replaced the barrel, You can add on things like a revy hopper and a df if you would like and if you realy decide you like your marker you can ever add on a electric trigger frame. There are tons of upgrades possible, it just all depends on how much monye and time you want to invest.
