What's the difference between a closed bolt and open bolt electro? What is better about having one versus the other? Is it that the open bolt is easier to strip while the closed bolt doesn't let dirt or anything into the internals? if anyone knows anything about this please explain.
thanx

A closed bolt means that the bolt is as far forward as it can go in a stationary position (i.e. without anything pushing it). A open bolt is the oppisite, it doesnt make much of an accuracy difference but your shot grouping is a little tighter with a closed bolt.
As far as easier to field strip and not getting dirt in it I dont think it makes a difference in that area.
Closed bolt means that the bolt is forward closing of access to the feed port. A 'gun with a closed bolt doesn't fire the burst of air/co2 till the bolt is totally forward and not moving.
An open bolt pushes the paintball past the ball detent and fire the burst of air simultaneously.
A closed bolt systems is like a pump gun system. you have to cock the action to open access to the feed port so a paintball can fall in the chamber, then the bolt is moved forward to seal the paintball in the barrel.
No proven accuracy difference.

They did a test with a Stingray, they fired some shots open bolt and then converted it to bolt action (i.e. closed bolt) and discovered the shot grouping got tighter but there was not a REAL accuracy change. Its all on warpig and warpig doesnt lie.

The grouping did not get tighter when it was converted from open bolt to closed bolt. It was the opposite.
In the first test, the open bolt shots had an 11 inch spread. When they converted it to a closed bolt, they got a 11.5 inch grouping.
On the second test, both groupings were 11 inches.
