Up, I'd like to know more bout this. What happens when your tank fails to pass..I know they drill a hole through it, but then what? Can you buy another fibre glass tank and put it on your reg?

i think everyone wants to know this.
up
Markings on your tank
WP/CP/FP = Working pressure / cylinder pressure / fill pressure
TP = test pressure
mass/cw/cm/ =weight of the tank/ cylinder weight/ cylinder mass (normaly in kg or lb oz)
wc/cc/wv = water capacity /cubic capacity/ water volume
how mig the tank is
FW = fill weight normaly co2
Luxfer/Drager Faber etc = manufactures name
DOT XXXX / BS XXXX = standard built to
DMF/ date = normaly this is the date of manufacture or the date of test or sometimes date on retest ( watch out for this you may get is tested and the date 7/00 could mean to one fill site its out of test at the end of the month or is has a few years to run)
DRILLING HOLES
if a tank fails and they can fail on lots of things
they must be taken out of service by destorying.
cutting in half is the prefured method but takes too long so normaly they drill.
stop you taking it to another test centre hopping it may pass.
if the valve did not fail this can be used in another compatable tank
hope this helps sorry it so long but you asked
if you want to know about HYDRO test ask and I will bore you with it
