I currently have a Tippman Pro-Carbine. I want to upgrade to a high-end marker. I live in the boonies where there is no tech support. I'm looking for a marker that is 1) reliable 2) accurate 3) easy to maintain 4) decent distance 5) quiet. I mainly play rec ball but want something that will allow me to compete in local tournaments. I have looked at Angels, Cockers, Auto Mags, etc. Can someone tell me which one best fits my needs? Thank you.

How much do you have to spend and are you willing to look at used gear? That will help us answer your question better.

around $1,000.00 I've looked at some used stuff on ebay and it looks good. I am a bit worried about getting stiffed with someones lemon though. I'd go with used gear.

From the experience I've had so far with my cocker, I'd say go with a cocker. Maintaining it is relatively easy, like cleaning the bolt and such. It has great distance, it's quiet with a decent barrel, and is extremely reliable. I own one, so I'm not trying to be biased, but they are great guns. They are extremely upgradable too.

How about a custom RAT Impulse? With the money you have saved you can get a nice hopper and tank. They come with a full freak, sweet milling, and you can get the anti-chop eye. They are totally upgraded and made to your specs. They run at around 150psi. They are reliable, light, and accurate (freak barrel). Also you don't have to time them or anything like a cocker. That would be my choice. Go here if you want one:

1,000?! gosh I wish I had that much. Just buy an angel. you might could find a one for 1,000 if not then just buy a used one. And for the cocker...they are the hardest things to keep. When they work there like the best gun but when there not there hard to fix. I would get an angel

I'd say Impulse. You can get a custom one for $600-$700 that'll be a much better value than an Angel. I recommend a Rat or a Nasty.

I would go with the RAT, with 1g you coud even get a nice n2 tank to go with it. I shoot one and they are super easy to maintain. Hey coem tourny ready out of the box and with no modes of firing (which are usless any way) you dont have to wory about that.

Dude go with the Autococker
You can upgrade them to shot more acurate the an Impulse and a Angle (sorry impulse funs but they are just cheap electronic gun)
I know mine does
And once you learn the gun it is so easy to take care of
Ive got about 1300 bucks into my gun and it is also the most acuraTE ON my team and the rest of the team has Impulses and Angles and one other cocker
Second dont go electric What happens when your board get wet or just simply doesnt work i ll tell you you got to go to the pro shop Every problem that i have had with my gun i have fix myself

Dude im sorry but i beg to differ. Impulses are not "cheap" electric guns, I think that people that have actualy been playing for a while will tell you the same things. One of the reasons they have a lower price tag is because they some with a semi only board. You dont need the modes anyway since they arnt tourny legal. Im sorry to say but a impulse can out shoot and non electro cocker and if you have ever shot one before you would know that they are VERY acurate guns. All you realy need to do is get a corect paint barrel match. Dude have you ever even played with a electric gun? They dont break when they get wet. I have a cocker too, and i am not saying that cockers are bad, but i have had to work on my cocker a hell of a lot more then my RAT. So next time you want to posy in the New player forum make sure you have your facts straight because you mite mis inform a new player. sorry i didnt mean to flame.:pissed: :pissed:

Since you have been playing a while you would know that accuracy is in the paint to barrel match and consistancy. A stock Impy is far better than a stock cocker. The impy will run at 180 psi, shoot faster and more consistant due to the max-flow reg. Cockers are good an all but I am more of an electro fan. At least you don't need to time an impy. Cockers are very picky guns. They have a lot of parts and those parts can get messed up fairly easily if you don't know what you are doing.

Thank you Code. As I said before acuracy is a paint/barrel match. Autocockers are nicked the most acurate guns...........by wgp of course. All lot of newbs think the autococker is a god of acuracy and as they get one they can hit a can from a mile away 20 times in a row. If you have a cocker and oh lets say a .689 barrel and you are shooting .680 paint than your so called "most acurate" gun wont be able to out shoot a spyder with a good paint/barrel match. I think Code covered the conistancy part so i wont touch on that.
