I would personally get a a 2000 autococker, make sure you go to a field or a pro shop and shoot each gun (the mag and cocker) learn a little about them. I do not think it is so much as personal preference anymore, I think it is ignorance when you say a mag a is better than a cocker because, for example, they're easier to take care of, they can shoot faster. I mean the automag has absolutely nothing bad about it, its just that there is a better gun out there which is potentially cheaper, which is the cocker 2k or 2k1.

Mags and Cockers are both equally good. You cant trust others "opinions" because that is just what they like. Choose the gun depeneding on how you like it. In addition you should look to the factors that seperate them. Like what position do you play? A forward would probably get the mag because it is smaller, a person that wants to just unload everywhere would get a cocker. Other than that, they can both be upgraded to have the same performace. You need to test them to see which one you personally like better. I just sold my Spyder and bought a mag, against what everyone says. I like my gun, because I am a forward, and I don't have the time or the money to put into keeping up with the maintanece of a cocker.

Need money to keep up with the maintenence of a cocker, bull****. Clean off the paint, squirt some oil in the ASA and on the bolt and thats all. Gets outta time just adjust a few screws and 99% of the time cockers get out of time because the person decides they want to do there own trigger job or something and have no idea what there doing and don't know how to fix it when they screw it up (but it is quite easy to learn how to fix). Cockers are also ALOT quieter. They can both outshoot a 12v hopper so no point in getting a mag for its "higher rof". Mags aren't bad its just that cockers are better.

r u telling us if u dont mess with your cocker you would never have to time it? why the hell are cocker owners always fidgeting with their guns between games? u just cant beat the automags reliability...and dont tell me, "ive had my cocker for so many years and ive only had to replace so many parts cuz of user error".

Part of the reason I got a cocker was I liked the fact I can fiddle with the trigger, make it shorter, snappier, make it how I like it. In trying to get the perfect trigger it will require a bit of fine tuning, so in between games you would tune it a little. Just because there tuning it doesn't mean it is broken! If your someone who quite franly doesn't care how the trigger pull is and will just get used to it then you don't need to fiddle.

I keep on hearing you say this, but you never seem to have a reason why they suck. If you have a comment on why they suck, please feel free to explain it to us. If not, shut up.

Dawgs, that seems like a fairly good deal. But, could you tell us a little more information on a few thing. Like, what brand on tank and what psi, what brand of regulator, and what style of Lapco? What brand of paint do you shoot, too?

Now my opinion on the cocker/mag issue. I have owned several cockers, and own one right now. Ive never owned a mag, but I sell them at the shop and know quite a few people with them. The difference: one is a mag, one is a cocker. There isnt a major performance difference. You will be happy with either one you get. In all my years, Ive never heard anyone say they wish they would have bought a mag instead of a cocker, or a cocker instead of a mag.

You chose wisely...

I have been told that the prefrence for one over the other is kind of a regional thing.
Here in Utah Cockers are King... but I hear that in Cali its the Mags that rule.

I dont know - but I think its a taste thing.
Like People who prefer Coke to Pepsi also prefer Fords over Chevys... and vice versa.
