Ok... my friend is planning on either getting an autococker or a mag, the problem is he only has Co2 available to him... what should he do?

i wouldn't recommmend co2 with the cocker. If you put an expansion chamber on the Mag, it'll be ok. Not as great as hpa, but the mag will perform good with co2 as long as you have an expansion chamber.

what about an anti-siphon tank?

that would help alot with the mag. I still don't recommend Co2 with a cocker. Plus, you should still add the x-chamber to the mag. If you have the chamber and the anti siphon, there should be no problem with the mag unless you're playing in like 0 degree weather.

Cockers run great on co2. It is a good idea to put an anti siphon tube in it. But mags on the other hand hate co2. The only way you will get any good performance out of them with co2 is if you put an expansion chamber, and a remote on it.

hmmm, well my personal preference would be the cocker (since its the best), but this guy keeps telling my friend "get the mag!!!".... its his decision all in all....
thanks alot, anything else i should know?

No not at all. You have it backwards. A cocker will perform just great on co2. But like I siad before mags just are not built to handle it like they are built to handle n2.

Hmmm, about the timing on a cocker, when does that become an issue?

Timing becomes an issue when your gun gets out of time. This happens when you do anything to the trigger, adjust certain parts and upgrade certain parts.

my friend is only going to put on a new barrel and bottomline, will that effect the timing in any way?

Nope. He will have to learn to time his gun though.

Timing is really pretty easy. It tells how to in the a/c booklet. But goto http://www.fromusalive.com/paintball/ for a video on how to time your cocker.

No it does not NEED anything. A barrel is a good upgrade though.

i was refering to internally, i read somewhere they dont come with a ball detent

Yeah they come with a great little ball detent. Whoever told you they did not must have owned a cocker prior to '98. Because I believe before the autococker 98's, they did not come with a ball detent.

i would say a cocker 99 or older the 2000 does not do AS good as the older cockers as for a mag thay are a very good gun thay just do a lot better on hpa

What the hell are you smoking? A 2k works awesome on co2. Better than 99's.

i thnk it's because ofthe extra volume that the 2k cocker has. I'm not sure..
