i've heard bad things about the Shocktech bolt. Like i heard ther's crazy blowback, so i'm gonna go with a Bob Long Rear COcking bolt.

Pardon my ignorance on this subject guys, but what's that Bob Long bolt gonna do for your marker that the bolt already in it can't do. Just curious. I've got a PMI Venturi bolt in my Piranah ... am I missing out on something here?

The bolt that comes with a spyder is kinda crappy, most venturi bolts are solid piece, with holes in them and that evenly distributes the air that hits your ball, rather than having all the air hit the ball in one area. Kingman kinda BSed by calling their bolt "2nd generation venturi" which though it sounds like it means "advanced venturi" it really means "cheap venturi that is easy for us to manufacture but not as good". It's just a normal bolt (big hole" with a star divider inside of it. A true venturi will reduce ball breakage, and some people believe increase accuracy (ie. air doesnt hit ball more forcefully in one spot, and therefore doesnt put weird spin on the ball). A delrin bolt is also lighter, which means less jolting of the gun during firing, and possibly (not sure) a higher rate of fire because the bolt can be sent back into the sear faster due to it's lighter weight. Some bolts are also a bit quieter than others.

so the delrin bolt is nice?

i would go with the Bob Long Force 3 Cyclone Bolt. it has the basic design of the venturi bolt (the true one, not the BS 2nd generation one) only it put a twist on the are before it ever touches the ball, what this does... i have no idea, but my friend has this bolt and he says it improved his accuracy & cut down on ball breakage (has a TL also) and looking at reviews over the internet it seems to be the best bolt for the price, so i would go for it if you have the cash.

I am wait for my shocktech delrin bolt as we speak..I got it because I heard alot of good things about it...things like you were saying TL...also I like the idea of not having any o rings on it..and also that it has the quick strip so you can pull just the bolt out with a twist leaving the striker and main spring in...I'll let you know if it is quieter and more accurate in a day or two...if the UPS man ever decides to deliever the damn thing..

Hey
Well, I know someone who owns a stock bolt on a G2 VTL Piranha, and he also owns the Shocktech bolt. The crazy part...
Says the stock bolt is quieter than the shocktech...

You can also make home mods to your stock bolt. Just need a pair of long nose pliers and a lighter. Heat the underside of the bolt in front of the hole in the middle. Then, take the pliers and remove the venturi insert by turning couter-clockwise. You now have a low pressure bolt! Cheap and easy, give it a try if you intend to change your bolt anyway.

Just got the shocktech delrin bolt...unfortunatly the quick strip feature doesn't work with the shutter..because the quick disconnect pin that is on the shutter gets in the way..I'm kinda bummed...but it looks good...I'll be testing it out this weekend...see how quiet it is or isn't..and how accurate....but I do have to say..the ports (three of them) in it are very large...as is the inlet port..(much larger than the stock one)..looks like it will let alot of air flow...

I'm also looking for a new bolt for my Spyder Shutter and I was wonderering out of these three, 32 Degrees Spyder Venturi Bolt, Force II Cyclone Bolt For Spyder, and Force III Cyclone Bolt For Spyder. You can see pictures here, http://www.shop4paintball.com/shop4paintball.storefront/997516205/Catalog/1074

I was wondering if these bolts will fit in my Spyder Shutter, and if they do, will the quick strip feature still work.

TL..I'll let you know how I make out..and Aaladar..the shock tech doesn't because the quick pull pin on the shutter..(the one you take out to remove the main spring_...well that blocks the bolt from sliding all the way out..so I would say thay probably all will have the same problem..unless the pin on the bolt retracts completely into the bolt...shocktech's doesn't...

go with eitehr the force 2 or force 3, although i'll tell you right now that they are the same, except that the force 3 is the same as force 2 but rear cocking.
