wassup. I was requested by the All mighty Muckraker to post this thread. For all you Rec Buffs that want to know how to make a kick butt ghillie suit heres how:
Get some coveralls to make as your base. You want a dark color..not like a neon yellow or anything.
THen you get ALOT of burlap from your local arts/crafts store. While you're there, pick up some Rit dye. I got three colors:Tan, a dark brown, and a darkish green.
With the burlap, cut them about 2 inches wide and 7-12 inches long. Vary the lengths for this will break up your shape more. THen dye the strips randomly. Do not dye more of one color more than another. After the dye has dried, take epoxy and start to glue the strips to your coveralls, starting from the legs. Make sure to mix the colored strips up. WHile working up, place strips about 2 inches above each other, so that the burlap overlaps the strip below it.Another alternative is to sew the strips on. WOrk your way up. This is the longest part of htis whole process. Also, you can take a Boonie hat and glue strips on there to make a good veil. Once you're done, let it dry for 24 hours. Then you'er done~! When at a game, an effective tactic is to take foliage(leaves, branches) and tie tehm to the burlap strips for more cammoflauge. WHen usign the ghillie...make sure to move SLOWLY and small distances.

Thanks Professor Camo. I plan to attend a Scenario game later this year. I'm going to seriously consider making a ghillie. You've convinced me.

haha you're welcome. You won't regret it. It takes a really long time, but trust me it's worth it when you see the guys face when a paintball comes out of nowhere and whacks him on the goggles. What's even better is when someone walks past you and youjsut get up and tap their shoulder and say "surrender?" hehe

if you want a custom made ghillie..go to this site. THis site i think makes them http://www.paintballgods.com/sniperhq.htm#silencer
I knew a guy who used to just show up with a set of old coveralls and some glue. he would spread glue all over the coveralls , put them on and then go roll in the leaves. Worked like a charm.

I wanna see a pic of a guy rolling in leaves. LOL Thatd be funny if he put too much glue on and glued his arms to his side. Wouldnt u get a lot of dirt on doing it that way? What if u accidentally rolled in dog crap?
I knew a guy who used to just show up with a set of old coveralls and some glue. he would spread glue all over the coveralls , put them on and then go roll in the leaves. Worked like a charm.
*Puts glue on grocery list...*

If you want to go Wookie - take the time to make your own and not buy a premade one.
If you guys follow Star Wars you know that a Jedi makes his own Light Saber... Right?
Well, in the US Army and Marines, Snipers make there own ghillie suits. Its a personal honor thing first, and second its a practical thing.
Plain burlap is a good base and its self can blend in nicely to most areas... but the real trick of the trade is to alter your suit once you get into an area and tie and weave foliage from the area of operations. This will let you blend in specifically and not generally.
Thats the edge.
I know some guys in the 3rd and 75th battlions that go so far as to cammo there TEETH!
While your making your suit, glue or sew in a Camelbak water pack and run a hose over your shoulder so you can drink with out moving too much.

Hey I made my own ghillie suit like 2 or 3 years ago. It is awsome. I made it for hunting. One 2ime i got less than 10 feet away from 2 deer. All i had was a 22 so i just watched them. I have used it for paintball and did very well. I have some pics of it if anyone is interested. I don't know how to put a picture on but if someone would tell me how i would be more than happy to.

Ghillies are kinda cool, and im sure they work, but am I the only one here who would probably get laughed at if I showed up for a friendly game of paintball wearing a huge, hot suit. I checked out some pics, and I think unless the game is REALLY SERIOUS,you take a chance on being a laughing stock all day. no offense to anyone who uses them, Im sure they work...
