Does anodizing a barrel change the bore size? Just wondering :)

Thanks

yes it does. if you have a .686, after you ano it it will be like .691 or .693

What?

If you add layers of material to a barrel will make the bore size smaller........

but anodizing uses this thing we like to call acid.. and the thickness of the actual anodization is what? 1/1000 of an inch? Every time a piece is annodized, it gets a little bit thinner...

I am totally lost as to why I responded the way I did.... Man all this coffee is really affecting me.... lol

Whatever it is... I agree :)

annodizing... staining aluminum.

yes... last time I checked, staining the outside of your alluminum barrel DOES make the insides bigger and/or smaller.

anchorite? what the hell is your problem? dont you dip the barrel or whatever you anodize into the acid, therfore coating the inside and out?

First of all, watch the flame....

Secondly, what you're not taking into consideration is the different strengths of acids, the different molecular structure of the different metals in which barrels are made and so forth....
