Hi, is anyone who has ever test/chronographed a M98 or C98 with and without an expansion chamber?

Please write your reviews here and don't forget to mention the wheather conditions !

Thanks, out!

hmm, im not authoritative with Xchambers, but i did try playing in 30 degree weather with rain once. Besides near pnumonia, cold, and my friend's tank literally freezing to his coat (LOL), the CO2 would either:

A) Fire just enough to push the ball 3 feet, and not recock,

B) Fire at 415 FPS (SWEET JESUS, THAT STUFF HURTS!)

c) fire normally

now, these three outcomes are cycling randomly, so.....

I guess i've talked enough now.

I have done extensive testing with and without the Tippmann GTA expansion chamber, and others for the 98C. I have noticed a significant improvent in cold weather. With the chrono I was consistently getting 300 + or - 15 fps which is fairly consistent for a two stage expansion chamber. Other expansion chambers were getting the same results except for the X-core which was about + or - 9. Anyways, in summer of course there won't be any advantage in having an expansion chamber. Unless you live somewhere cold. For summer, I connect a stock Autococker reg to my 98 and run that. I get about the same results 300 + or - 8 with the regulator. I have noticed that if you put a wedge on your 98 to make the tank angle up you can get shorten your inconsistently. With a wedge that angles the tank about 10-15 degrees I cut it down to about + or - 12 with the GTA expansion chamber and others. The X-core performed the same, and the regulator only had about 1 fps difference. Hope this helps.

I still Have a scar from that, on my leg. Gave me a blood blister right through camo's and a pair of blue jeans, when we saw that we packed up and left. When it got warmer we went to the local field and re-chronoed.
