ok i have a spyder compact with a little bit of stuff n it (listed in signature) and i wanna go nitro because, it gets cold enough during the winter that my co2 doesn't expand, and during normal play my shots aren't as consistent in distance as they should be (or i think they should be) and i also i like the idea of being able to fill my own tank with a scuba tank.
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW-
what do i need to put on my gun?
whats the cheapest i can do it for?
-thanx a lot for your help

U don't HAVE to put nething on ur gun... sounds like u pretty much got all of what i would call the essentials. The cheapest u can get a nitro tank for is a PMI 48 ci tank, i think its like $90. If ur wantin to buy ur own scuba fill station thats another $400 then u'll also need to buy a fill nozle for the nitro tank and those r like $60. So for everything i would say the cheapest u could go would be somewhere near $600

don't i need a reg?
and a PMI Pure Energy 48ci N2 tank is only $70
and can i just screw that into into where i screw my co2 now? i thought you hook it up some other way.

unless you modify your gun to run at a low pressure you don't need a secondary reg. nitro tanks come regulated to about the same pressure as co2 (it stays the same though). If you get a screw in nitro tank, it can screw in where your co2 does. If you don't, you need a cradle for it.

ok i think the pmi pure energy tanks are screw ins. cool now i gotta figure out which size to get (probly 48ci 'cuz i don't have a job and i'm broke as a joke) how many shots would that get i've heard 10 shots per cubic inch on 3000 psi so that would only be 480 shots (is that regular or LP?). the thing is i get more shots than that on my co2. thanks for your help, any additional info would help too, something i'd like to know is why 68ci costs more than 2X as much as 48ci

Ya pmi pure energy tanks just screw in... i think u were thinkin bout like the armegeddon tanks that have like a built in reg and drop forward. The 68 ci may cost that much because it may be pre set and regulated, find out what kinda xtras the 68 ci tank has compared to a 48 ci, thats bout the only reason it would be that much

If your goin nitro you might as well go quality, now theres a difference in quality and premium. I would go with a vigilante reg, a nice pmi 68ci 3k tank, and maybe an inline reg in you like, just the reg an tank you could probably get for 200 if you find a nice deal.

if i wee u, id just buy the flatline nitro system becaue it comes completely set with a drop forward, and is adjutable, and u can find them for under 200 bucks. Then, id buy the pmi pur enregy reg, and a macroline kit, andud be good to go. U could probal get about 800 shots out of those tanks, so id just buy one of them, screw the 48ci tank, theyre pretty worthless, pay the extra money and get a tank that will work better for u in the future, and if u ever upgrade to a different gun, u can actually use.

People, he said he was broke and wants a screw in tank. He doesn't want to spend that much.
You can get a 51 ci crossfire tank for like $110, and its really small. I think you can get it at http://www.nationalpb.com

thanks for all your help, i really appreciate it and ds613 has it right, i don't have the money to buy a $200 tank then put on a regulator after that. i just want a real basic set up and i don't want to replace the things i already have like the drop forward ( even though i might get a bigger one on my own) and my exc chamber (that'll pretty much be a fore grip after i put on N2)

so here would be the perfect set-up, if it exists. a tank that sells for under $100, that is screw in and could work with what i have already, but i could add more stuff and not replace a lot (i'd put on a vertical reg and a bigger drop if anything) if any i knows what i'm talking about then tell me what my options are (if any) oh yeah thanks ds613 the 51ci crossfire is right on track

if i were you i would get the crossfire 68ci steel N2 system http://www.actionvillage.com/cros68cistee.html . its only 138 there too. and if your at the field and you run out(which you probably will), just use your co2 for the rest of them time ........... at least thats wht i would do if i were you. im not really looking into N2, because the field i play at is kind of primitive, no N2.

yes, 480 shots is low, and yes it is less than your CO2 gives you. Because it's a small tank. The important question though, is can you get by on 480 shots per game? Most people can, though they will move up eventaully. And why does 68 tanks costs 2 times as much. Fiber wrapping. A 68 steel only costs maybe 30-40 bucks more than a 48, but a fiber one will be much more expensive, because they are more costly to make

i found a crossfire 68ci 3kpsi fixed output tank for 120. it's called the stubby alloy steel, does anybody know if its a good tank? and theoretically could i just fill it and screw it into my botom line adapter and be ready to go?

You should be ready to go with that set up. The 68ci tank is definitely much better too. You can always upgrade later with a reg and lp mods to smooth out the whole operation.
