I really want to get involved in paintball, one of my friends has been involved for a while and has 4 guns. I am borrowing his Custom98 April 28th at SC Village here in Corona. I have been thinking about Either a Sharc (http://www.paintball-online.com/shop/product_information.asp?number=GNCS&variation=&aitem=4&mitem=9&back=yes&dept=73),a TigerSharc (http://www.paintball-online.com/shop/product_information.asp?number=GNCTS&variation=&aitem=5&mitem=9&back=yes&dept=73) , or a Rebel LE. If anyone has any suggestions it owuld be great. My 16th bday is in June so i should have 400 but only want to spend 200-250 on a gun + all equipment. What size tank should i get and on the Sharc and Tigersharc there is no vertical front grip, would an expansion chamber add one?
Thanks

here is a good setup everything you need besides the clothes and kingman (spyders) are very reliable guns easily upgradable and fairly cheap. here is a good setup for you http://order.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin/wg-order?unique=1c21b&catalog=actionvillage&et=3cc1c923&basket=5Ccee188d800bc663cc1c1a94f166d1e188d862f507 4438f9e72cf7707aa11e24

well in the review the piranha has a 9.8 and the kingman a 8.9. ive heard thatthe pmi is somewhat like the spyders so i would say go with the piranha it looks lie a solid gun you should read the revies their very helpfull (althought some idiots type a bucnh of crap) i also like the inline reg on te pmi go with the pmi

Thanks alot Redbull!!!:D
Yea i read alot of reviews and alot of because just spam that the gun sucks and what not. I live in Riverside bu go to SC Village because its the only good place around. And are the goggles thermal in that kit? My friend said to make sure to get thermal or else ill get fog ups. Also i was just curious how many balls do yo guys shoot in about 1 hour of play? Also, should i get a 14oz tank?

RedBull

i shoot about 600 for every hour i play more or less depending on how many ppl im against. but yah a bigger tank would be nice like a 16oz i like how they are shaped. and no the goggles arent thermal but neither are mine and they usta for till i bought some pmi anit fog spray OMG that stuff kicks. i sat their and breathed in my goglges for like 2 min to test up and their was just a lil like i could barley see it. but that set up will be good to get you going.

but if you want a new tank is like 25 roughly and a new mask is about 40 (thermal Nvader) you could get the package and the extra tank and mask then sell them.

look down the side

or shoot once and adjust the gun to wear the paint landed, or shoot semi quickly and just walk the paint over to your target

Would the shutter be better than for mounting a site onto then?

you dont need a site... just do one of the other methods listed above

RedBull

mines vertical feed as well you kinda are so busy looking down the barrel that it just dissaperes. you dont even know that its their and you dont need a sight or a scope paintballs are so inaccurate (wel their pretty accurate) that a scope or sing wont matter much and youll never really take a shot form such a distance that you should need a scope

Heres the 4 i am going to try to choose from:
ACI F4 Illustrator XP
Kingman Spyder Shutter
PMI Piranha EXT PRO G3
PMI Piranha PRO TS G3
Which do you guys think is the best that would not require immediate upgrades but still be very accurate, durable (Last 1 year or more) and minimal ball chopping.
Edit: Hmm maybe a Bob Long Millenium

here's how I see it if you have 250

spyder compact java dlx $60
J&J ceramic, CP barrel, dye excel $40
palmer stabilizer $60-70
hosing kit plus ASA to plug tank into $20
20oz Co2 with on/off + anti syphon tube $40
v-force armor mask $20

might not look as fancy, but will get the job done better, quieter, and more accurately than any of the affore-mentioned guns.

*my opinion, don't flame me!

Oh and an easy way to sight the gun and hold it at eye-level is to line the ball detent plate up with the tip of the barrel and point at whatever u want to hit, it gives a perfectly-lined up shot (this is easier with a 14" barrel)

were are you finding a compact for 60$??? (besides ebay)

RedBull

if i were you ide get the spyder compact 2-1 it comes already with the bottom line and everything and the msrp is about 130$ the shutter's msrp is 250 i think. you dont really need a regulator because youll be running co2 and you dont need one unless your running nitro (tanks are about 70) i would go with the compact 2-1 its a great gun and easly upgradable for cheap. the only thing i would suggest getting is a barrel. you can get a nice dye xcel for about 40$ at your local paintball store

opinions on the millenium?

mistersuperfly
04-21-2002, 10:22 PM
ok 69.99 oops :)
http://www.paintballgateway.com/index.html
oh and u can get a dye xcel here for 44.99
and a bottomline kit for 12.99
20oz W/O antisyphon tube 19.99
palmer stab 84.99
v-force armor 19.99

comes out to about 253 w/o shipping which will prolly be 10-15 bux, it's 1:30 I'm goin to bed

oh and the palmer stab works great with both CO2 and Nitro, it has a built in xpansion chamber for co2 (works better than most stand-alone chambers) and it will give him better accuracy less air consumption and less ball breaks even with Co2, he could prolly get the PSI down to about 500-550 and with 50 dollars more in upgrades he could get it down to 300 (about the lowest a spyder can go)
