I have a question if you can help...I just put a low pressure valve with a new valve
pin and brass cup seal /with a nylon bushing on a spyder shutter...well after gassing
up the marker and taking a couple of test shots..I noticed that the valve is leaking air
through the valve pin at the cup seal...do you think this is because the valve
seat(nylon bushing) is bad? ..or do you think I might need to change the valve spring
to a stiffer one....any help on this would be appreciated

It is 32 degree magnaport valve kit if that matters...I should have said that...

it's probably the cup seal. Either the cup seal has gone bad or it's another anomaly that will away in a littl ebit. Try to taket he cup seal out, make sure there are no scratches, then put it back in. IF not, just replace the cup seal with a lapco cup seal. Those will never freeze up or leak

TL, I tried three new seals and I still have a tiny leak..looking at the stock pin and cup and compared to the new one...I noticed that the cup shoulder on the stock one is taller than on the 32o ..and the stock pin is shorter than the new 32o pin (thinking that the longer pin is to keep the valve open longer for more air flow) ...which is why I am still thinking that I might have to put a stiffer valve spring in...what do you think?....did anyone else ever have a similar problem...and what was your fix..

actually...it might be a more serious problem. YOur valve body might be scratched. THe valve body is very sensitive. If eevn one scratch gets on there, then you have to change it because it will leak. IF it's not that, i don't know. IF it's not your cup seal and pin, then my next guess is the valve body itself.

Thanks for your help....I checked the valve body...it was fine...what I also tried is to stretch the valve spring to see if the extra pressure on the cup would stop the leak...and presto...no leak...still think I will get a spring kit...with the different valve springs and main springs..thanks again....
