I would say a spyder clone or a spyder...also the model 98 but I would go with the spyder....its easier to clean...

That is a very hard question to answer. It really depends what you want. Do want a gun that comes with very little and is cheep, but you can upgrade like hell? Do you want a gun that has a lot of upgrades and is a very good gun? Do you want a gun that is more in the middle? And what is your price range?
The standard beginner gun is the m98. plenty of upgrades and it never breaks down. If you want a bare-bones gun, get a spyder 2k. You can upgrade that gun all over the place. You want a kick *** beginners gun that needs almost no upgrades, look at a spyder shutter, Rebel xtreme, or Piranha G3. They are really tight guns. in the lot, the spyder 2k is the cheepest, and the shutter, xtreme and g3 are the most expensive.

The Piranha STS - 145 dollars
Upgrades? Eh, nothing to soon. New barrel in the future.
Better then most starter guns.

For the money a stock Extra is pretty good. Model 98 is great for beginners but a newbie probably should get some type of Spyder. Simple to get in there and clean, upgrade and such.

I've got a Spyder, and I'm thorougly satisfied with it. It worked well for the money when I first got it, and the upgrades are endless. It runs like a dream now, and I still have more upgrades to put in it. The possibilities are infiite with a Spyder.

When I said Newbies thats what I meant! I mean like good guns you could find packages for, for less than about $130$ As for me, I've only currently got a lil over $130$ and as a beginner in this sport don't want to spend that much money on a marker, that I may use only a few times a month. I'm considering a Spyder compact 2k or M98 but there are also some other options.
Thanks,

Between the two markers m98 and spyder compact, I would reccommend the spyder compact.
1. It is a bit cheaper.
2. If you do want to upgrade it, there are a lot more options at cheaper prices.
3. Easier and cheaper to maintain.

why not just buy a piranha VTL, or BL???they have the same features as the 2k, but its better cause it has better service, and there are a lot of upgrades for it.better that the spyders(but if you must have a spyder, i would buy the xtra or the java 2 in 1

If you want a really good realiable gun go with the Spyder SE all the way. It's all ready Fully Loaded all u have to do is get a new barrel and your all set.

Tough call...
I got a Tippmann myself. Excellent gun, I got a Terminator for $36.95 for it, best buy I could ask for. Over 2000 great shots with it.
My brother however has a Spyder. Requires a bit more maintainance, more expensive, but the barrel upgrade isn't as neccessary.
It's really a call that someone has to make for themselves, but one of these two is what i would suggest, both would cost a bit over $200 for a complete package, and the barrel in the case of the 98, and I may be biased, but the Tippmann is my suggestion...

For a newbie gun it's pretty hard to beat a Tippmann. They can handle just about anything you can dish out. Spyders aren't too bad either.

yea, i sometimes agree, i hate it when im not exactly sure when its gonna fit, but the main thing that this will apply to, are barrels, and out of most barrels ive seen, they usually will always fit, an exeption is the Custom Products barrel, it stays out about a millimeter, but there is little or none difference in accuracy for me. But i agree that the feeling is-it-gonna-fit-or-not-???!!!, is really annoying, but if you just talk with the dealer at you local paintball store, theyll help clear things up.

At that price:
Spyder Compact 2000
Cheap mask (x-fire, armor, etc.)
12 oz. co2 tank
hopper
elbow
You can get all this for about $130 if you look.

definately model98. where i play, no one ever needs more than a tippmann, its not like we are all star pros. so when you buy a tippmann as a newbie, youl have it for years. and there are so many upgrades for them. and one of my friends who doesnt really care for there stuff hasnt even opened his tippmann since he got it(3 months), after playing everyweek it still plays like it played the first week. i guess thats kind of bad, but it means you could just get a friend everyonce and a while to help you clean it.
