I just ordered a Spyder Xtra with a 12" Teardrop barrel. I ^play at a place where we can only use field paint and they use Diablo Blaze. I heard that this is not a good match(barrel, paint), but I want to know if it would still be better than my stock barell. Will it? please gimme a hand.

stocks are usually made to fit most balls and although they aren't good if the macth is bad u might hjave alot of ball breakage more thasn ur stock so u should sell the barrel and get one that matches cause u cant stick with stock but better than bad match.

Actually, the TearDrop and the Blaze should be a pretty good match. The stock barrel simply has a bigger bore so many different brands of paint can be used- The first option will be a better fit though, and small paint in a big barrel can be just as bad as big paint in a small barrel.

here- let me point you in this direction. Just find Blaze on the chart and then find your barrels. All of the bores and ball diameters are given.

That was in the sticky at the top-

I have the exact smae barrel and always use Diablo Blaze. The only problem you will have is whenever you point your barrel towards the ground, a ball will roll out. Its because the standard bore of the Teardrop doesnt match the .687-.688 bore of Diablo Blaze. And no your ball detent only stops doubling feeding and doesn't hold in paintballs in your chamber. Hope I helped. I actually got fed up with loosing a couple of paintballs so I ordered the FREAK!!!

balls are held in by the ball detent u can just try it... i took off my barrel and put a ball in and it was stopped... end of discussion

If the ball detent doesn't hold the ball in place, then how does it hold the ball in place to stop another ball from coming in too? (double feeding?)

A Moderator told me this plus the other pro-shops in Toronto all say this. The ball detent stops balls from double feeding. To my knowledge it's priority is not holding balls in the chamber.

It will happen to anybody that uses a large bore barrel. Even thought I used the Teardrop, only occasionally would a ball fall out.

Still, Im liking the Freak since its the perfect adapter for any bore size. I got the .687 insert to fit my Diablo Blaze.

you should have no problem using diablo blaze, except that it is becoming a little more inconsistent at the moment. if you are really worried then use any other diablo paint as the other draxxus (diablo) paints are of a slightly larger bore, and would be a very good match to your teardrop.

as for balls rolling out, don't worry, if your marker fires with a closed bolt then your detent will not stop balls rolling out, as the bolt moves past the detent when in the forward position, but if your marker is open bolt then the detent will keep the balls from rolling out as well as stopping it from double feeding.

in short a teardrop would be better than a stock spyder barrel
