One time when I was playing I forgot to take out the barrel plug.

I was going to be on the suicide run.(as soon as the whistle blows you run strait to the flag)Th whistle blew and we started off running. I saw somebody in a bunker not to far from me so while running I shoot a shot turned out I had my barrel plug in. It fired pretty far but didn't help much. Of course I got shot.

What was the stupidest thing you've ever done?

Note: Please do not flame at people for for doing somthing stupid. Thats the point of the thread so dont ruin it for others

This isn't something I did, but it is really stupid and paintball-related.
My friend brought paintballs to school once and said that they were gumballs, so a kid took one and ate it!

was buying my paintball gun. Paintball may be really fun but it such a waste of money, just for a recreational sport. Arrg, I should have bought Operation Flashpoint with the money instead! *sigh*

I did the same thing... Leaving the barrel plug in I ran forward when the game started, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, 5 shots right there at the end of my barrel that was a ***** cleaning that out.

One of my friends at a local field (He's an *****-hole) cheats a lot because there aren't refs to watch the game. Well, we go out to the starting base and about 1 min before we start, he pulls out a team band from the other team. He takes his off and puts the other one on. Well about 5 min into the game, I see someone off in some bushes facing away from me. They had their back turned and I saw a band around their arm that was the other teams. I was gonna nail this sucker. I snuck up to about 25-30 ft behind him and took aim. I took my time cuz I wanted a nice shot where the sun don't shine and I finally got a nice line up and pulled the trigger three times. The first was an intentional miss to get him thinking 'what the heck?' and the other two were to hit him. Turns out that when he turned around like the idiot he is, the shots hit him where something else don't shine and then he went down, hard. I run over and say you're out, but then I see the neckring he was wearing and the next words that went though my mind were pretty graphic...and I called for a re-run. So I knew the game was over and the other team closed in pretty quick, and I really felt good and bad for what I did. I taught him the hard way why not to cheat and the easy way, what happens when you cheat. All in all, he didn't really care, after he got better that is ;)

Sounds like the stupidest thing alot of ppl here did was play with out a cup.

Wear a cup 'cause two's company but three's a crowd!

Stupidest thing I ever did was make a dash for the whole length of the field down the tape on the break. I like to do that with teams who tend to run deep into the field off the break. It sometimes works very well and when it doesnt my team gets much better positions on the break than normal because they are busy coating me with paint. We call it the paintsponge manuver. Any I ran the paint sponge and made it past the surprised team andducked behind a back bunker. They were a bit suprised so i thought heh i'll dash between bunkers and hose them. I make the dash using my rt trigger to send a stream of paint but nothing comes outgun dryfires like a sob they all turn and hose me. I had the powerfeed plug in upside down.:D at least we won.

look first at the diagram

I
:/\/\/\: I--
I ran the :/\/\/\: at the beginning, and was at the first : The ref wanted us to win (it was recball) cause the other team were some stuck up 9th graders. I'm in 7th. He commented that I hadn't moved up too far(I had run about 1/2 the field!!) and that I should moveup more. it was only about 10 secs into the game. I then ran right here I-- to the spot where I and -- meet. There were some guys on the other side of the field, and I was shooting at them. They were stupid, yelling at me that I was on their team, and to stop. Might I mention my friends gun (mag) i had borrowed broke, so I was using a rusted gt-2000. Some powertube tip thingy cracked. Oh well (yes, I have an Impy, but it was in the mail) anyway, I was about to move up to the next I, you can see it on teh diagram, anyway, I hopped up, started running, when this guy pops out from it and shoots me 4 times in the goggles. EMBARRESING!! neway, the should have been out, 3 shot rule, but I forgave him, I mean, you should have seen how happy he was to take ou thte "newbie" (actuallly, I've been playing for 3.5 years) with the GT-200, he was shooting a silver Raptor. Needless to say, he is a jerk! SO happy about hitting the newbie when I had run up the ENTIRE way down the field, oh, and his bunker was the starting bunker, he hadn't moved. And he had done nothing, I was teh only guy he shot

This was 6 years ago:

Charged a bunker with my Brass Eagle Stingray (don't have it anymore) like a Rambo wanna be and got lit up by some dude with a full auto Cocker from about 10 feet away. He must have heard me coming cause all he did was put his marker on top of the bunker and started blind firing. Learned my lesson real damn fast after that. Never charge anything when you know the dude behind it is packin a portable howitzer. :eyes:

one time at the local field , it was halfway thru the day and i had just gotten my tank filled, we started a game and i run out along the right tape to a bunker and silde in. i come up to shoot and my trigger doesnt move and i realize my safety is on.....so i click my safety off and come back up to shoot, and nothing happens, at that time i realize my bolt isnt back...so i pull the bolt back and come up to shoot and the bolt goes foward but doesnt come home.......at that point i figured out the on/off on my remote hose WAS TURNED OFF!!!!!
at this point i was running like a madman to the back of the field screaming "SOMEONE TURN ME ON!!!!!!!!!" <i know i doesnt sound right> becuase i couldnt nurn on the valve on my back...now i always testfire my gun right before each game..........

the moral of the story: make sure your remote is on!

I had a friend who had walked all the way up the field to the starting point, was ready and excited to play, then he realised that he had forgot his mask.

SilverFox
05-24-2002, 01:30 PM
wow now that's some quality reffing there. not only did the guy get on the field but waled all the way across to the starting point and no one caught that he had no mask.

viper x-pb
05-24-2002, 09:26 PM
Yeah, it was pretty embarrassing, though actaully it was an outlaw game. None of us realized that he had no mask till we got to the start, "hey put your mask on now, wait a minute, you have no mask" My friends and I are however pretty strict about the safety in paintball. The funny part is, he went all the way back to get his mask then he came back with out his marker!

hahaha

I did the powerfeed turned off thing yet again today. I ended up with a clear shot at my wifes left side. no one knew i had made across the middle line on the break. POW POW POW 3 dry fires she turned and laced me up with her kapp cocker. I hate being first guy out.

THIS IS GREAT this weekend at a tourny in our last game 1 of my teammates cut me off at the worng time and i shot him in the face.

the problem with this is when we start are guns are supposed to be pointing down. So when I shoot i start shooting down and bring the gun up. so when he cut me off i went shooting

Me = ******* of the week.

I was getting ready to play, so I'm putting my remote line on, as I'm putting it on my remote starts spazzing out all over the place because I left the valve on. I was really lucky it didn't hit anyone or myself, I steped on it to hold it back. After that, damn I felt embarrased but oh well. I also got CO2 freezer burn from it, not pleasent... Plus I broke an O-Ring... On top of that these damn pros were there tearing up the place... Oh well...

once my whole team was charging the oppposing team and i got out into the open, jumped (or tried to) over this tube like bunker only i haddent realized that it was covering in paint, so as i got one foot on the bunker i sliped, did a type of cartwheel over it, landed barrel first on the ground. I ended up chipping the barrel, completly cracking the side of my 12volt, but was luckily not humiliated because everybody was focused on bunkering the other team.

I have done two stupid things.

-I took off trigger frame when I had full CO2 tank attatched.(Warning Don't Do it) It shoot forever until my tank became empty. Scared me ****less.

-Ran for stairs to get on the top of the tower. My sweatshift got stuff on the rail of the stairs....and well I was a sitting target....I was 1 of 3 guys left....they charged us while I was stuck there...I couldn't shoot because my shooting hand was stuck...lots of welts.

well this isnt really a stupid thing but it did hurt like a MOFO.

Somebody left their gun out on a bench, about 1 foot away from my face. i dont know how it happened, maybe the gas expanded or maybe the macroline was loose or something, but the gun began leaking, i leaned my head in a little closer to hear it better and to see where it was coming from.

and BAM!!!, the macroline exploded right in front of my face!!! it was VERY loud and the CO2 freezer burnt my face. my hand too, lol when threw the gun off the table!! the guy was so pissed at me hehe.

Well i have walked on the field without my mask several times. but what really hurt was when one of my newbie friends brought a B.E. Avenger to the field i was looking at the trigger pull(the barrel was off,but i didnt realize that the paint and co2 was still on) i held the gun with my hand covering where the barrel screws in. then in my most genius moment i decided to pull the trigger to see how long the pull was. POW. welt on palm. end of story.

what are you jabbering about newbie? the force that is exerted on a paintball to accelerate it from a stop up to 300 fps is the same no matter who makes the marker. There would be slight differences due to barrel size and paint match, but it is basically the same. now if you want to talk about reliability or rof mock be all you want but in this case you just show your ignorance.

maybe voicing your opinion wih out a basic understanding of physics could qualify you for this thread;)

at the infinity paintball tournament in june my team(the Exexutioners) was in dead last. out of 6 previous games we only had 28 points. in the last game me and two other guys decided to do a suicide run down the left side of the feild. while the other two guys went for the flag. so the ref started the game and we took off. but the other team, for some odd reason, all went to thier right(our left). so we got 5 guys with angles and impulses and cockers charging headlong into three guys who have a flash a sonic and a timmy. you do the math. i ended up with 6 welts getting goged and getting hit in the gun once. for all that hell we went through we still placed last

One time I was at Adrenaline games and it is an indoor field. I went for a night game and it was a little slick.

Think of about 10 hours of people shooting paintballs, many of which happened to break on the ground, and you have the largest slipe and slide paintball field.

Well, I slide into a bunker but kept going and eventually stopped in open field only to get lit up by about 5 people. Next time I go, I am going in the morning:laugh:

One time I was fixing my gun at a folding table inside the field, and it was all in pieces. I finished putting it back together, and I pop the hopper onto the powerfeed. I have never seen a VL 200 feed that fast!

The paintballs streamed out of the powerfeed's bottom (I forgot to put the plug back in) and I was juggling them while they all fell on the floor. The guy at the counter found it hilarious. I didn't. At least 30 or 40 hit the floor before I had the sense to flip the gun upside down and replace the plug.

*I made sure to step on a few of them, so that he'd have a nice mess to clean up later! ;)

How about sprint for the flag at the beginning of a game down a 45 degree hill, trip, do a couple flips, fall in a stream and snap your leg in two? Good one, huh? Good thing it wasn't me. The owners had to call the paramedics and the whole nine yards.

OK, maybe not 45 degrees, but this hill is notoriously ... notorious. Especially when it's raining. Yikes.

i just got my gun (pmi blackmaxx) when i was a newbie. it was my first day and purchased 1000 rds of brass eagle. i screwed my tank, and it started leaking so i went into my workshop and got out the Epoxy. thats the **** that is stronger than superglue, it actually becomes one with aluminum. well, blckmax was plastic, so i slapped som on the macroline fitting and it stopped that. i eventually dismanteled it and drilled holes in the barrel, and did **** to it and its only upgrade was the garbage can.

moral of story: don't buy PMI guns! their products kick *** except their balls.

ok, the dumbest thing i ever did was yesterday. my i was running and getting shot at, and my partner was covering for me even though i didn't know it. i couldn't see for crap because i didn't have my fan on my goggle, and i play with glasses. i dived down below some pine trees where i could shoot invisibly. i saw some motion in a tree about 50 feet away and fired 3 rounds, all of which hit my partner on the head.:pissed: ah yes, the beauty of the flatline barrel; it hits your friends in the head and bounces off from your enemies. man, you should have seen how much goop was in his ear. btw, i was playing with very fresh, VERY HARD rps big balls with red fill that looks like blood :D

Stupidest thing? Starting a game without goggles.

This was 3 or 4 years ago... I was reffing, and wearing sunglasses, so I did not notice I wasn't wearing my mask. The newbies around me must have thought it was ok for refs to wear sunglasses, because they didn't say anything. I noticed it just as I was blowing the horn to start the game, and let me tell you, I never felt more exposed. I ran for the sidelines with my hands over my sunglasses and went to get my mask.

This spring, I did the same thing again, but only at the chrono station while I was setting up my marker. Damn wraparound sunglasses "feel" like goggles.

There are two really stupid things I've done, one much bigger (and more expensive) than the other. The first time, I was using my friend's Black Dragon and another kid's JJ barrel (I was waiting for a new gun to arrive via UPS). He wanted his barrel back, and was taking it off while I held the gun. While I was zoning out like I normally do, I accidentally shot him twice in the hand (I was used to my Spyder with the mile-long trigger pull). Oops. The second mistake was buying my Minimag used off eBay. When it came, the hoses leaked, but that was fixed with teflon tape. It worked fine for one day, but after that, all hell broke loose. The valve completely f***** up on me and would not worked whatever I did. After several trips to the proshop, I gave it up and sold the parts. I will never buy a used gun again.

Yesterday i was at this new field with a couple of friends. The field really sucked because most were newbies so we start just going after this father and son that was the pros there. We kick their butts most of the day and then some new refs showed up. The pros started wiping like crazy come to find out one of the refs was the guys other son. So this refs starts following us around and pointing us out to his dad throught the radio. So we turned our guns up and the next time the ref followed us we lite him up. 4 guys going full auto on a ref is so funny he just layed there. i myself used a hopper and two pods. When i check i was shooting 345. From about 10 feet that had to hurt as result we were banned for life oh well that field sucked anyways.
