I wear gloves. I've got shot in the hand without the gloves, and it didn't hurt that bad. Then I was like wow those look cool, and for 8 bucks(wal mart) how can you go wrong? So I bought them, and it dosn't set me back, but the only time I've got shot in the hand when I wasn't wearing them was when I forgot them at home....

I've been shot in the hand about 3 times with no gloves, and it honestly never seemed to hurt much. I've heard of people getting chunks of skin ripped off, but mine never hurt any more than any other shot. So I don't really see the need for them.

I wear Mac tool inpact gloves full finger.Has grip in the plam so you got a good hold on your marker. I had blood drawn on the back of my hand.It didn't hurt much but I rather not be get cuts in the hand open wounds where I play has horses running around and wire fences also.
Any one that been around horses knows what you can get if you get a cut or have a open cut and get dirt in it .

Im not sure why, maybe its just me. But I feel that I get a better grip on my marker as well as giving me the ability to shoot faster.
Yeah, if you get shot in the hand with out the gloves it doesnt hurt that bad. But if you are wearing gloves, you barely feel a thing. I guess its a preference thing.

I wear half-finger gloves because it makes me feel safer for some strange reason.

I wear big old gortex, I think, fishing gloves.
THe only time I was shot in the hand, it was from like 15 ft. in the thumb with the gloves, and it stung for a minute, so I don't want to know what it feels like without gloves.

I don't know that I've ever played a full day of paintball without being shot in the hand :D. On my birthday one time I was playing and I got shot in the knuckles between my middle and index fingers. It honest-to-God didn't really hurt, but when my dad saw red mixed in with the orange, he bought me a pair of half fingered gloves on the spot. Good thing, too, cause later that day I played a game of Standoff and got shot probably 50 times in the hand. None of them hurt, but the 200+ that hit elsewhere kinda stung ;). I've been wearing them ever since.

What is standoff?
How did you get shot 250 times?

I'M JUST THAT BAD! :D Just kidding. You stand a bunch of people (groups of 4 in my case), to start off with, about 40 feet away from each other. When the man in charge tells you to go, you just start lighting each other up. You don't leave until you can't take it anymore. When the man in charge says so, you start moving towards each other, to about 20 feet. There's actually kind of a funny story in that...
I was using my friend's dad's tricked out Automag, and I was on a team of 5 against a team of four (they all had fast guns). On my team were my friends Ryan (borrowed Spyder), Brandon (Spyder or Stingray, I can't remember which), John (Piranha STS G2), and Dwight (Model 98). And of course myself with the Mag. The other team was four people I didn't know, if I remember right 2 had electros. We all get down on our respective positions, and the game starts. In this order: John realises gun is not cocked - Brandon runs out of CO2 - Ryan chickens out - Dwight chickens out. That's all in a space of about 10 seconds. Immediately, I've got four guys w/ fast guns sitting there lighting me up. I don't know exactly how long I stayed in, but by the time I left, I had been out of ammo for the last 20 shots or so (couldn't see a thing) and was completely covered in paint. Figuring I shoot about 5 shots a second, it would have taken me somewhere between 30 to 40 seconds to shoot off a hopper. Figure between those four guys (all of'em still left) on the other team put about 30 balls a second in the air at once. It would seem roughly 1000 shots were fired at me in that time period. But then, of course, they didn't even have that much paint between them, so figure maybe between 500 and 700 were fired (they were all low on paint by the end of it). Of course, not all of them hit me, and I don't know for certain how many they fired, but I figure that 250 hits is a fairly safe estimate. I was spitting blue by the end of that. The field owner congratulated me on my stupendous display of idiocy (although not in those words), took my picture with paint all over me, and gave me a pass to play free on my next visit.
About that picture, the guy said he would give it to me on my next visit, but when I came in again he had left it at home. :( When I finally do get it, depending on how it turned out, I intend to scan it and make it into my avatar. Be warned, though, my ugly mug probably looks even worse with paint all over it (then again, it might help, too! :D)

Man, that's plain kooky. I wear half fingered...ahh who cares. That story disturbed me.
I started wearing gloves cause I'd get all sweaty, and I as using a pump. I've just worn them ever since.

Yeah, that's how i started wearing gloves too. The old Sheridan's pumps were so stiff you needed to get a good grip on them. Thunderwear golves I think I used to wear.

Yes, I wear gloves. I used to play without gloves, and then one game I caught one right on the backside of my hand. Long story short, I now own a set of JT gloves :)

Yeah, you would think so, but I really felt very little pain from it. Mainly just a really nasty taste in my mouth. After the game I had some little red marks on my right arm, and a few more on my right leg. No bruises or anything, although I must admit, before the game I turned my harness around to protect my hips/arse (I was turned to the side, don't worry I know where the really important things are). I guess I'm lucky, I have never gotten a bruise playing paintball. <Knocking on wood> Best part, though, (besides the free pass!) was that since it was my friend's dad's gun, my friend got to clean the thing off instead of me :D. Of course, he were none too pleased, but oh well.

I wear full fingered gloves out of necessity. Usually I play on some private land and there are nettles everywehre. Nettles are little plants with average sized leaves shaped sort of like a spade (like on playing cards) If you touch any part of the plant you get stung by the plant and you'll be scratching your hand or body part for the rest of the day. I've even been stung through my jeans. Since I'm always crawling through the bush I gotta protect myself from the green *******s.

i wear those gloves, they look cool but not that effective, mine are already ripping on the seams. you have to order something to get 'em though, i get hit in the hand every day i play paintball, before i had gloves i still got shot in the hands a lot, the 1st time it startled me and i dropped my gun, then i started getting freaked out when there as paintball shell sticking out of my finger and there was a thick mix of blood and paint, i thought it would get infected of something so i got those gloves

there are also thorns all over my woods field
I wear half finger brass eagle gloves...and whoever made that comment about it not hurting when u get hit in the bare hand well they must play with 98fps cause at my local field the chrono is 300 so it hurts pretty bad when u get hit in the hand point blank. But my friend accidently shot me (and i was on his team) and it hit me in the hand and chopped off the tip of my pinky to where the bone was showing through the skin so i am getting some 32* paint pro gloves.

I wear half-finger BE K-Mart gloves. I have had too many times I've got shot in the FINGER, but I can't bring myself to wear full gloves except winter.
