Drop forwards...........?

Okay, another newbie question here?

What is a drop forward? Where does it go and what does it do?

a drop forward does just what it says, it drops the tank and at the same time, brings it forward. my DF (drop forward) moves the tank down 1 ¾" and forward 7 ¾". my 16oz is practilly underneath me when i play.
