Scope...

Exactly where can i get a good scope for my Tippmann 98 custom? I mean a real scope not some red dot thing. Also, how can I make my tippmann more accurate? Don't recommend a new barrel cuz I got a Dye Boomstick.

scopes are not as effective on paintball guns as they are on REAL guns... your not always gonna hit what u see in ur scope.. then ur gonna get tunnel vision, and get bunkered. trust me, u dont need a scope just get like a raised sight.

Scope (SK-OPE)- Most useless POS u can get for your gun.

Scopes are usless on paintball guns unless you have 0:0 accuracy. (and trust me, there isnt a marker out there OR barrel that has 0:0 accuracy) the onlything a scope is really used for is to find someone on the field or to see long distances without having to carry around a pair of binoculars. Only other thing u can buy a scope for is to scare newbies :D :laugh: but other than that theres no reason to mount a scope on a marker. Oh, and actually, a red dot sight works better than a scope

And on that note, I wouldn't buy a red dot scope.

I bought one, and put it on my tippman, and even though it made my gun look utterly PIMP without the feed elbow or barrel attached, it really isn't that effective. It just made me second-guess myself, as I would sight down the barrel as I usually do, and then feel like i had to re-check my aim through the red dot.

Bottom line, just practice sighting down the barrel. Eventually you'll develop something I like to call "muscle memory", and you wont even need to sight it up anymore.

If you play with a M98 with a good barrel for long enough, it makes it an extention of your arm.

was looking for a scope near atlest 5x...max 10x. Im ganna use it to find people and I can learn to shoot with a scope. Just let me have a damn scope :D . Where can I get one :confused: :confused:

u can get a 4x15 air rifle scope at wally world (wal-mart) for about 15$. But still, I dont reccomed getting a scope. Just like Legionnaired said, its actually alot easier to sight down the barrel like most tippy owners do.

I would not recommend getting one with more than 4X magnification. It will be more than sufficient at spotting your targets, and like specter said, you will certainly get "tunnel vision" especially with 5X-10X magnification.

I might get a scope, but not to zero in on targets to shoot them. Iwould use them more as binoculars.

To try to answer your other question--an expansion chamber would work wonders as far as accuracy if you have a boomy and nothing else. So will buying the right paint to match the Boomy. I don't know what thick shelled paint likes the boomy yet; all I know is, I practice with PMI premium paint.

Practice will also improve accuracy.

And about tunnel vison, im not ganna be sitting throught the whole game looking throught the scope. I will mostly use it to look around, and if i find a guy to take a shot at him. If nobodys around im not ganna be useing the scope as much, so i wont get tunnel visson =)

I dont recommend it man. I would think about it. I dont think it is worth it. I already try to use my site on my gun it doesnt go where i think it is gonna go all the time. When you use a SCOPE you are probably going to be too far away from you to have a good hit on the target. There are too many factors that could get in your way like wind, top spin, objects, debree(leaves, sticks, other stuff in the air, i live in a wooded area and they are a pain to deal with falling from the sky) etc.
