21 inch barrel: DOESNT IMPROVE ACCURACY JUST BECAUSE ITS LONG. It actully makes the ball ark down and you lose FPS because the friction of the ball in the barrel will slow it down (remember, your air source only powers the ball through around 8 inches of the barrel) And also, the owner of the local field has a 21 inch, and he never uses it because it gets in the way in all types of play ( speedball, woods, air, ect) come on, I mean, you praticly have to back out of your bunker about a foot or more to snap shoot or post up. to me, any barrel longer than 14 inches (the best and most used barrel size) is pretty much useless because it usually lowers your guns performance.

I know a guy that used to have a 16 inch all american on a 98custom. He ran a remote but we still called it a walking stick because he put in his barrel plug and puy the barrel plug on the ground and lean the gun against his hip. It was hilariously long. A little while later he got a 12 inch bigshot, that was alot better. Finally he just got a Tribal for $200 American when they went out of business.
The moral of the story is, never go longer than 14 on any gun. If you want supreme accuracy, buy a Freak, my cousin did that and now he can pick a tick off a dogs back at 300 yards!

I bought my 14inch jj ceramic for $43 and it is accurate. I have never owned any other barrels though so I can't compare with anything (besides the, yuck, stock barrel). Alot of people have the ceramic barrel though so it must be marginally good.:)

I really don't see any need for a 21 inch barrel. I have a 14 inch progressive, and that even gets in the way somtimes. But, If a 21 inch barrel works for you, more power to ya. Doesn't CMI make a s1 inch barrel?

Hey Villhime, what does your Thunderpig drop look like? I have never heard of that brand. Do you have a pic? How far does it go forward?

ugh..... i didn't vote in ur poll b/c it doesn't tie in with the topic at all.... a 21" barrel, i believe, is a complete waste of $$. ur range is gonna be sliced in half, ur marker is gonna be so long anyone could spot you, and really, why is there a need to go that long??
both villhime and i have the 14" SP progressive, and i that gets in the way some times.
here is a pic by the way. and Yes, CMI does make the barrel, it is called the True Flight 21"

43$?!?!? I got the new Carbon black JJ Ceramic for 20-30 somethin at copaintball.com but I think the price went up. And if your really loking for an accurate barrel, find one with varying bore sizes ( such as the FREAK by SP). I recently bought the new ARADUS from PB and its one of the most accurate barrels ive shot ( its on the same level as the FREAK but its not as reliable mainly because the freak doesnt have any mechanical parts the could mess up like the ARADUS does)and what also kicks about this barrel, u dont have to carry around 8 different bore inserts

Jeez, I can't believe this post is a big as it is! It's dead, damnit! A PAINTBALL ACCELERATES THE FIRST EIGHT TO TEN INCHES OF THE BARREL! porting before that stops it from accelerating, porting after it helps to quiet the paintball. you only need 12-14 inches of a barrel. any longer than that is a WASTE! and as for the aradus barrel, it feels like a cheap piece of plastic... some of the bore sizes are too small to use, and the larger bore sizes don't "click" into place very well after a while. a good idea, but needs to be worked on a little more I'd say... in the mean time, the freak set is still the best.

Hey, did you get you guys check out darkstarops sig? He actually bought a 21 incher... what a loser! I can honestly say that I would be ashamed of myself if I made a purchase like that one. NOBODY buys a 21 inch barrel, that is for newbies who don't know a good barrel from a hole in the ground.
