Hi. Ive decided that Im going to get a Spyder TL Plus marker, a revolution loader, a all american 14inch barrel, and a 12oz tank. Ive seen people that have their tanks strapped in a backpack or waist belt instead of having it directly on the marker. How would I go about doing this? thanks!

the item you are referring to is called a remote, i dont know much about setting it up, but im sure other people will post more information.

It is done by using a remote. You can get one for approx. $25. Lightens the load you carry a lot!

First thing is get a remote hose system. A hose system will have the hose, a quick disconnect, and an universal fill adapter. Usually these come in a package. Once you have these items you can just screw them onto you marker and tank.

Next, you need a harness that will hold the tank. I use a 4+1 or a 6+1. the +1 means the harness has a space for a tank.

they aslso come with slide check. it is a way to take remote off gun without wasting so much co2. dont get it. it just cuts at orings in slide check and you have to take it apart and sand it down and then it dont work very well. hard to move it. just save 6 bucks and get one without it. ive bought 3 (me and 2 friend) and they all had same problem

Ok the spyder isnt that heavy so i dont think you need it. It is helpfull if the tank is jabbing in to you BUT if your in teh woods its just another thing to get caught. Pick your parts according to style

thanks for the input. Ive been getting mixed info from people about spyders. Some say they are really reliable and some say they break really easily. Whats the straightdope on this?

its all personal prefernec. gotta try em both (with and without) and see which feels right for you. no one can help you on that

you cant get more reliable than a spyder, tippmann, or piranha....the worst case scenario is busting an o-ring which can be easily and cheaply replaced....as for as performance you get what u pay for

thanks for the info everybody. how would you rate a spyder tl+ verse spyder shutter?

If you are planning to upgrade the marker, I reccommend the TL Plus. The TL plus has the basic features that you would want on a marker.

The shutter has features that are upgraded, but if you are going to further upgrade the marker, the TL plus would be a better buy.

More bang for you buck.

you cant upgrade the shutter very much beyond stock?

Yes you can upgrade the shutter just as much as the TL plus, but if you are spending money to upgrade its cheaper to buy the TL plus and upgrade that. Instead of paying more for a Shutter and upgrading it upgraded parts.

The main differences between the TL plus and the shutter are asthetic, and now that the TL has the java editions, you dont have to get the shutter becuase of the color.

Thats a tough question Shutter vs. TL+. I think the TL+ is better because to me the Shutter is a lot more looks than anything. You can put some upgrades on a TL and make it better than the Shutter. My buddy has a Shutter and the ex-chamber broke on him! Spyder and their "mini ex-chamber". If you like the Shutter soooo much you cant seem to tear yourself away, get an Xtra! Its a shutter with less looks but same features (except regulator). Hope I helped!

if you get a remote system that often makes an expansion chamber unneeded as an added benefit.
