Well, it all comes down to this...
THE SHUTTER OR THE XTRA?!?!?!?!
Please Post Why or Why Not I should or Should Not get which gun.
The Shutter would be my first choice, because where I go everyone has them and loves them. But everone badmouths it in these forums so i can decide. the xtra is sorta new and gets great feedback...but I mean come on, Look at the Shutter!!!!
Besides that, I want to get a gun that I won't have to upgrade..I would only get a barrel and small things but that's it..so that that into consideration when choosing
Thank you.

Basically the Xtra is Shutter at a lower price and no reg. So get the Xtra. The Shutter to me is all flash and looks. Go with the Xtra and you shouldnt be dissapointed!!

i had same 2 choices and chose Xtra. It was a gut feeling that changed with mine and you should go with yours too.
The Xtra is an awesome gun and it performs awesome. The vertical feed leaves no room for feed problems and it is just a good looking and great working gun

xtra the shutter has some features that do nothing, such as the vents, ppl pay money to go rear cocker, why? so they wont get dirt in the marker, so why would u want vents in it, and the reeg doesnt work cuase it is b4 the x-chamber, so basicaly u get a BETTER gun for less

Get the shutter, i bought a shutter, a week latter my best friend got a xtra, and it was busted, he had to send it back to the factory, they gave him a new gun, then he played one game and the ball stopper broke off, and the gun was feeding 2 or 3 balls at the same time, he has had problems with that gun since the day he got it, i have never had a problem with my shutter, im getting a 2001 sto cocker soon and my friend is buying my shutter, and he is trying to get rid of the xtra right now, so if u decide on a xtra, just ask him for it.

deamon its not that smart to tell someone how much a gun suks and then try to sell it. "hey, look as piece of crap-you wanna buy it?" j/k. anyway get the xtra. its the same gun bu has vertical feed which feeds the balls in faster anno re (prob replace it anyway) but its 40 less

i dont own a xtra, so i cant sell one, but i am selling my shutter on ebay, and the shutter owns the xtra, the good thing about the xtra is the vertical feed, i have to admit that

Out of the Shutter and the Xtra, I would definitely get the Xtra. The reason being, it has a vertical feed, a nicer cocking grip, it doesn't have those holes in the sides, and you don't pay $30 dollars extra for a cheap regulator on the wrong side of the expansion chamber.

Ok, the things i dont like about the Xtra:
1 factory defect, broke the ball stopper after the first game, feeds 2 or 3 balls, is heavier than the shutter, balance is offcenter, the screws loosen after every game, it takes too much oil, ugly green, spring is too tight
things i like about xtra:
verdical feed, easier to cock
things i dont like about shutter:
spring is too loose, so i had to add a spacer, preasure is way to high, so it breaks soft and old balls.
things i like about it:
almost everything else

yea thats the other thing, i bought a shutter, played 2 games, and then i wanted a cocker, so now im selling my shutter, and getting a 2001 sto cocker, if u dont have that kind of money, just pay 100 bucks more and get a 2001 cocker, it will be a better deal

Hey, just one thing to remember. I know alot about Spyders and every one has the same insides; they all shoot the same. The only difference about a Spyder is the outside. Some come with upgrades that others don`t come with and that is why they are more expensive. For example, the only difference between a TLplus and a Shutter is that the Shutter has an "add on" being the regulator wich tells you how much air is left in the tank. You want to know what`s the difference between a Shutter and an Xtra; the Shutter has a power feed where the balls sit in the gun before being fired. The Xtra has a verticle feed where the balls are dropped directly into the gun and fired immediately. That is a feature more like on a Tournament grade gun. Also, the Shutter has a regulator, so you know how much air you have left, and the Xtra doesn`t. So if you want a Xtra and also want to know how much air you have left, you would get an Xtra and spend another $60 on a seperate regulator. The best bet is to get a Shutter because it already has the regulator included with it and it looks better. If you have any questions email me at jmg87@adelphia.net

um...no
reg do not tell you how much air you have left in the tank. they regulate the amount of air going into the gun.

if u said go with the shutter evidently you dont know too much about spyders, or about paintball guns in general for that matter, the reg would have to be the suckiest thing out on the market...the ex chamber is hollow so its not like you have to worry about the regulated air changing...a shutter = a waste of money...if u get a TL+ u can get a descent aftermarket barrel with the money u saved, SP Teardrop, JJ Ceramic, just to name a couple...JMG u dont know **** about spyders
