i like the Defiant. If that's too expensive...try out the Impulse. THey are both reliable guns.

If you've got the money i'd go with the Bob Long intimidator. I did some research before buying my marker and came up with this as my choice. it's got as high or higher a ROF as any other marker, the quality of the marker is very high, regulator for both bolt movement and ball firing, letting you get the pressures set just right and therefore making a very efficient gun. Anti-chop eye (infra red sensors that checks to make sure a ball is in the breech before firing). I like the ACE because I've never chopped a ball one single time, and that's not bad considering the ROF is 14 bps. Trigger pull can be adjusted from length and tension without having to take the marker apart, and a quick strip bolt is also a nice feature. LCD is a cool idea too, but is really just a cosmetics thing. Also, the biggest selling point, is that if you have any problems, call Delta (Bob long's store) and everyone I've heard that has had a problem has had the part replaced free of charge. If it's too much to spend, i'd reccomend the impulse, or a bushmaster, most likely the bushey. Whatever you do, dont go tribal. They are decent markers, but some people have problems, and if you look in the tribal forum, you see alot of people saying that tribla wont answer their phone when they call. is this really the kind of service you want if something goes wrong? So to recap, Intimmy if you've got the money, Bushey if you dont, and impulse if you have to run on CO2.

I personally didn't like the Intimidator.

I saw a new BM2K with HPA go for $500 on ebay yesterday. You might want to check it out

You have to look at it alot :) When i saw it in a magazine I recall saying something involving the words "flamboyantly homosexual" but when you get used to it, it looks good. It's unique at least, heh

haha yeah unique is a good word for the Intimidator...and the name matches it's description...if i saw one on the field..i'd be like "OH **** stay away from that guy" haha :P

hahaha, the looks are one thing, but the one i played with had some problems with the eye covers, the eye itself (gets crap all in it when you break a ball), and the grip. The electronics from what I understand are very similar to the BM2Ks.

Yeah, when it first came out, it was the definition of "F*ed up". The one you played with most likely was an early model that was problem prone. The early models had bolts that would snap right in half inside the marker, as well as having eye covers that were way too thin. This caused a whole lot of unexplainable breakage in the gun, and if your eye covers didnt work, or your bolt snapped in half, then I understand how you'd get a bad opinion of the gun. However, to Bob Longs credit, anyone who broke their bolt or eye covers received replacement parts free of cost, no hassle whatsoever. In fact I've heard alot of people who've done stuff to their markers like trashing the cup seals, and Bob has also replaced these free of cost. The early version markers would also go down in the rain, but that has also been fixed. Right now the only problem I've had with my marker was stretching out the LP hoses because I'm an idiot. Set the LP reg too hit, and voila, leaky gun. The hoses are plain ole cocker 3 way hose, so it'll be easy to replace. As for now, everything is totally worked out, and I've got mine working perfectly and the consistency is awesome, all the balls drop off at the same range, which I think is what people mean when they say a marker being accurate. of course, any marker with a good reg and air system should be able to do this, but hey, I love my gun :)

Yeah, customer service and a maker that backs their product makes a world of difference. Glad to hear you got a good one ;)

I know I'll get flamed for this, but I've always loved Angels. At Shop4Paintball (http://www.shop4paintball.com/shop4paintball.filereader?140715058+EN/products/01ANGELLCDBLK) a WDP Angel LCD - Black is $999.95 w/o shipping. No flames please... I already hear them coming.

Oh for sure I'm not falming angels, angels are great. But when you take off all the bells and whistles I honestly beleive that between my gun, an angel and a bushy, there is almost identical performance in terms of consistency and ROF. Hoever, the angel has groovy little extras, like a vibrating grip frame, PIN codes and what not, while the bushey just plain shoots paint and shoots it well. The angels an awesome gun, and for some people all the bells and whistles are worth the money, and for some people it isnt.

heheh you're right..but it's all those gadgets and doodads that makes an Angel..well..an Angel..(doodads?) yaeh..a Bm2k is like a baby Angel..i wouldn't mind having one.

well ill say this, the angel has got to be about the best... ever notices how alot of people refer to the titanium boomstick as the "angel" of barrels?? i dont think that is because ti-dyes suck, i think it is cause they are top of the line, and the angel basically is too... or at least thats my opinion

Paintball Monkey
01-18-2001, 05:47 AM
hahaha, ti-dyes are just a gimick...something extra to spend your money on. Angels are nice guns, but way too pricey. A BM2K is just as good (without the bells and whistles).

i got to shoot a dark angel once, man if he had looked the other way i woulda been outa sight from the owner so fast. But really, angels have nicer triggers and are made out of some totally kickin parts, angels the best, bob longs and shockers anrn't far behind though

i donno...Trigger-wise...BM2k/Defiant is basically the same thing as an Angel...i just htink the Angel looks better..

Intimidators not behind at all actually. But I'm gonna leave it at that, or I'll just save us all the time and simulate what would happen when i said "I think the intimidator is equal or better to an angel"

Me "Intim is equal or better than an angel"

Some angel owner "No it isnt"

Me "Yes it is"

Some angel owner "No it isnt"

Me "Yes, it is"

Some angel owner "You're an idiot"

Moderator "This is going to the flames forum"

So lets just all smile and nod, in the knowledge that each of us are very stubborn people who beleive their respective markers are the best markers in the world.

Oh and as for the matrix I thought it was kinda nose heavy myself, the balance just didnt seem right IMO
