ok guys i am prolly gettin an impy! do u think a vision is worth it if i already have an electric hopper?
have nay of u used barrel adaptors how do they work?
whats the adavantages of a vert reg to a female reg?
are their any upgrades i need soon?
is it ok if i double regged my impy with the female smart parts and a male bob long?
how many shots can u guys get out of a 20oz?
is syphon tube really important for the impulse?

read the FAQ, there are a million threads like this.

If you must use CO2, yes a Anti Siphon tube is VERY important. Don't give me crap about the impulse being made for CO2, because the truth is that CO2 is still sensitive to temperature, and will probably not be quite as consistant as nitro. The purpose for the vert reg is
1. easier to put a d/f on it
2. you can put may-flow type tanks on it
3. better for cradles
4. provides a grip

If you have an extra 150 bucks get a vision, if not you can get it later.

I've used one, they suck. They are a VERY small bore (lapco ones are 685), the look ugly and make your gun longer. Witch such a small bore you will break most paint you shoot, unless you shoot super small paint all the time.
whats the adavantages of a vert reg to a female reg?
Vert reg gives good grip, allows you to use any type of air setup you want, makes your gun less tall, and looks cooler.
are their any upgrades i need soon?
I would recommend a tapeworm to start out, it will help to eliminate bolt stick. Your next upgrade should be a delrin bolt, I like the New Designs Equalizer.
is it ok if i double regged my impy with the female smart parts and a male bob long?
No. The max flow is the best reg available. Adding another reg to it will only HURT performance. Don't do it.
how many shots can u guys get out of a 20oz?
Depending on your setup, around 1300.
is syphon tube really important for the impulse?
First, its ANTI Syphon. And its a MUST. Find the type of dropforward you are going to use, take the gun and the tank to a pro shop, and tell them to install an anti syphon tube to match your drop. Make sure you say anti syphon, a syphon tube will draw liquid, you dont want that.

You say you have an electric hopper? is that a 12v or 9v revolution, or is it a HALO or Ricochet? If it is a 9v, then you're gonna want to get a vision. If it's 12v or any of the other ones, then you should be fine for a while.
I don't use adapters, and I don't plan on it. I wouldn't reccomend one.
The Vert max-flo allows more options for cradles and drop forwards. And you won't have the problem of the manifold pin being too long, like it is on the older fem max flos.
Get the vert reg
Here's the order I would get as far as upgrades:
1. Tapeworm or any other solenoid optimizer
2. Delrin bolt (I like the New Designz delrin equalizer too)
3. A blade trigger if you find you don't like the stock one
4. A barrel if you don't like the progressive, but the Progressive is just fine for me. But none of the upgrades are a must. a totally stock impulse shoots just fine
Don't buy or use a secondary regulator. The max-flo is, as Legend put it, the best. It performs extremely consistently by itself and putting on a secondary regulator would only decrease the performance.
I get 1000+ shots per 20oz (makes sure it's on/off and ANTI
Syphon!) Whoever says it's a gashog is wrong and ignorant. It varies from gun to gun depending on user settings like the dwell
you MUST have an anti-syphon tube in your c02 tanks. Not joking, MUST be anti-syphon. And when you have an anti-syphon tank, make sure you know which way the tube is. It must be on the bottom of the tank when the tank is held horizontally. Make sure the tank has markings so you know which way is right side up when you screw it in.
Good luck and hope you love your impulse as much as I do.

the impulse was originally made for use with co2, yes nitro is more consistent but with my co2 my velocity only ever varies by +or- 3fps, i also live somwhere with reasonable weather (england) and so have no problems with freezing regs etc, so i don't see the point in nitro when i am a student and can afford f*ck all.
If you don't believe that the imp was originally designed for co2 then ask smart parts
anyways, back to the topic of the thread:
1) vision, if you have the money, get it, otherwise any electric hopper as good or better than a 12v revvy should be fine for the moment (after a bit of practise i could outshoot my 12v with my stock trigger)
2) barrel adaptors, have never used them, but form what i hear they suck big time
3) vert reg, makes it easier to get upgrades such as vff etc, apart from that it reduces your height (impulse is quite a tall marker)
4) upgrades, a good hopper, that is all, later get a solenoid optimiser (VFF, tapeworm, LPR mod) and then maybe a freak if you can afford it, but the stock imp is a great marker, with one of the best stock barrels around
5)double reg- do not do this, as has already been said the maxflo is one of the best regs around, if not the best, don't go messing with it like that, it will only harm your efficiency
6) out of a 20oz i get 1000-1400 shots, but it will depend on your dwell setting
7) YOU NEED AN ANTI-SIPHON, this is something that i am always going on about, if you have an imp on co2 you MUST use anti-siphon. One, not using it voids your warranty. Two, not using anti siphon means that liquid co2 can get in your gun which will f*ck it up, to put it mildly, and you will have to pay for it out of your own pocket as your warranty will not cover it
does the stock impulse come with an on/off switch for gas?
for an on/off you will need to have one fitted to your co2 cylinder, not your gun, so the answer to your last Q is no

do i have to have a on/off valve?
You don't need an on/off valve, but you should really get one for your co2 tank as you should fill your max-flo up slowly (by turning the on/off slowly) as opposed to filling it up fast (by using a co2 tank without on/off), which may damage it.
although this is very unlikely to damage a max-flo, its operating life will increase greatly by using an on/off and turning it on slowly

If I were you I wouldn't get the vision. I have a blue verticle reg impulse with a blade and a smart parts tapeworm and it's the perfect package. It has a perfect trigger pull and no drop off or first shot problems. I had a vision before this but if you get a halo, ricochet, or warp feed than you won't have to worry about vision. The blade trigger is definately an upgrade you will want it makes a world of difference compared to the stock trigger. Good luck with your Impulse.
