I have recently decided to buy a new gun. I have decided to go with the Excalibur. But I would like to know some things first.
1. I have a crossfire 68 ci 3000psi tank, is that good enough for the Excalibur, or would I need to invest in a non screw in?
2. How long does the battery last, and is there an indicator to see if it is low or not?
3. Does the gun actually perform as have been stated?
Thank you for your time and patience.

The preset tank will work very well with the Excals Sidewinder reg.
I believe the battery is a rechargeable NIMH. Not sure. The LED glows green with a good charge and blinks red when the battery is going low. I have heard that the LED battery display is not accurate but AKALMP is working on some new software. Again, I am not sure about this...
Although I have not had the pleasure to own one, Excaliburs are very nice markers. They are efficient, consistent, quiet, moderately compact, closed bolt, come fully upgraded, look sweet, have incredible anno, a nice tight bore stock barrel(Javelin), and probably most important of all, are extremely reliable and low maintenance. AKA knows their **** and that shows in there high quality electronic guns.
Be sure to post some pics when you get her :)

I can only answer the performance end of your question. My Ex is to old for the battery light and stuff. However, as for performance, it is true. This gun rips paint out of it like no other gun out there. I currently own a 'Cocker, a Dark Angel LCD, a Defiant, and the Ex. The Ex fires faster than any of them. It is amazing. If you would like to see an example of it, go to AKA's website in the Excalibur section to see the video clip.
As for the screw in preset air tank, it should be fine. The sidewinder is very good reg. in itself and shouldn't need double regulation like you would would get with a max-flow or hyperflow or others. (though the double regulation can't really hurt either)
That set up should serve you well.

1. 68 3000psi is fine, you'll get 1000 plus shots
2. Takes a regular 9 volt battery. As for life, it'll last over 10 cases... just keep an extra battery and you'll be fine. Its really not something to worry about.
3. If you set the bps to 13, you could have problems. No chopping, but some "burping". Set it to 11 and you'll get great results. Remember its closed bolt, so its a little slower than open bolts like an Angel. Keep in mind however that most people can't even shoot 10 bps let alone 13, I don't care what they claim... ask any pro player. The great thing about it is it's whisper quiet. It is like a shocker in that respect. It also has less kick.
All around excellent gun. Comes with a great reg and nice barrel.

Thanks for all the info. All I have to do is to get up the last bit of money to get it. :D

Ok, how does the excaliber hold up against the following guns.
Angel (all)
Matrix
emag
basically any top line cocker
top line impulses
I have been hearing people suggesting those guns. Not being able to shoot any of them, I was wondering how does the Excaliber compare to them. I play back or mid. But I am also looking for one that is not too much designed for back but one I can play rec with too.

The only downfall for a lot of people is the ROF on the Excalibur. Other than that it beats all the others in reliability, accuracy, consistency, chopping, short stroking, timing, efficiency and customer support. This only my opinion based on playing with mine for about 16 months. :) 11 bps is fine for me!!
