i am going to make my spyder low pressure and i already have a nitro tank but i was wondering if i had to buy a new one because the one i have right now has a fixed output. I have been researching lp and everyone says that if you do not have every component then it will not work and it was a waste of money. Thanx.

don't quote me on this... but from what i read if u want to go lp you would have to go with co2... nitro is hp...

Uh no. Most gun that are on LP are on n2. The reason being is that the out put pressure is adjustible on a lot of nitro tanks. Usually ranging from 100psi to 1200psi

well what I understand is...co2 as it turns to gas generates about 850 psi pressure...thats what most markers run at..or there abouts...but if you get liquid co2 into the line..or it gets cold form Icing up..the pressure drops..(thus the burping)..n2 is just compressed air..and it compressed in most tanks at 3000 or 4500 psi...and is constant..unlike co2..the non regulated tanks need an regulator to lower that 3000 or 4500 psi to a usable pressure...the "per set" tanks are set at about 800 psi.so if you want to run LP you still need to get a regulator to lower that pressure to a more usable one...ie..400 or so..which is about as low as you would probably want to get..because it's not how low you can get..but how reliable your marker is at that lower pressure...someone correct me if I am wrong..please..)

well 400psi is not like the limit...i run my SPyder LP at sub 300..and i love it. As for the inline reg, well that depends. If you have a fixed output HP tank, yes you do need an inline reg to lower the pressure. BUT if you have an adjustable tank, then you can jsut set it for hte psi that you want.

TL....Just by changing your valve you got your marker down to under 300???....

nope..i have a new bolt, a reg, and a new valve..the only thing i didnt' change is the Low Pressure Chamber.

so if i get a lp reg then i don't need to buy an adjustable tank?

That is correct, you might need to change to a lighter spring though, but that's easy

that's right..because a pre set N2 tank comes set at about 850 pis..so all you'll need is an inline regulator to lower that to what ever pressure you need ...a lot cheeper to get into n2 that way than to buy an ajustable....and now PMI and crossfire among others are making steel tanks up to 68 ci that only need pressure tests every 5 yrs..and they can take a beating (they are steel)compared to the fiber wraped....(they need to be tested every 3 yrs)....I got my 68 ci crossfire for about 115...and it screws right into th ASA ..so no special cradle is needed....

i was thinking about getting the aka sidewinder reg which is lp when it is shipped. will i still need to change the springs?
