Hey, whats the difference, if any, between a siphon tube and an anti-siphon tube.

It was my understanding that an anti-siphon tube would dis-allow liquid co2 to enter the gun.

However, I went to a shop, and they said they didn't ahve any, but they had 'siphon' tubes...and he described it to be a tube that will keep liquid co2 from entering the gun, so I got one and had it installed. It is a tube that is kinda flimsy I think, the one end screws into the valve, and the other has a rubber "sheath" around it...

I can shake the tank and hear it move...

Just wondering what's going on...is this just something that they call by both names? did I mess up?

Just wonderin :)

Anti-siphon tubes are designed to help keep liquid from leaving the tank. Siphon tubes are designed to pull liquid out of the tank. Bulk CO2 tanks have to have a siphon (or dip tube) tube in them in order to fill tanks. Otherwise it only fills gas.
If your tank has a siphon tube in it you're probably freezing up your gun as well as only getting a couple hundred shots max out of it.

I'm trying to decide if there is just a miscommunication about the name of teh tube between myself and the guy taht sold it to me, cause he told me it was for being sure I dont' get liquid into my gun, but called it a siphon tube.

Could you possibly describe them for me (both?)

god damn it. I hate shops that don't know what the hell they're talking about.

I jsut saw a picture of a siphon tube on paintballgear.net. It looks liek teh one I had put in my tank. I speciically asked the guy what it did and he said it was to keep th eliquid from entering the gun.

I'm gonna order a normal anti-siphon tube and have the old one taken out and take it back to them and get my damn money back. That is just annoying. I paid 12 for the tube and 8 to get it put in.

Auction,You can use a bulk CO2 tank with out a dip tube in them. Its a pain in the butt but you turn it upside down.
My 20 pounder I got from the place I exchange tanks gave me a tank mark dip tube but the tube was toast. So I had to turn it upside down till I could get back and get the right one.
Now if your talk a 50 pound bottle then that be a pain to turn upside down unless you got a few beef up guys on your team to flip and hold it :)
