Howdy Folks, gotta bit of a problem. My buddy was supposed to order us two cases of PMI Premiums for this weekend, but the store was out so he ordered us two cases of Diablo Rec Ball. I've never heard of this stuff and am slightly miffed that he ordered it without saying anything to me first.

Anyone out there know if this is a quality ball and what bore it is. I haven't found it on any charts ... If its large or small bore, I'm screwed.

HELP!!!

Diablo Rec ball? is it like Hellfire or Blaze? if it's anything like them you'll be fine. I shoot either Hellfire or Marbs, many times mixed..and i love them.

That's the thing, I'd never heard of their Rec Ball either, I haven't used any Diablo brand, but I've heard good stuff about their well-known paintballs. They used to have a brand called Diablo Brand-X which was a large bore paint and was mainly seconds ... This Rec Ball stuff is marketed as a "good target paint for the budget minded player" whatever the Hell that means, the case contains assorted colors ... I'm hoping this stuff isn't seconds.

I've mostly used PMI Premium and am spoiled on it ... I'm gonna be POd if this stuff busts in the barrel.

Called 800Paintball today to find out about these Diablo Rec Balls ... the sales rep said Diablo overstocked on Hellfire and Inferno, so they took the overstocked items and repackaged them as Diablo Rec Ball. He couldn't tell me if by overstocked it meant that these balls had sat in a warehouse somewhere for several months, but he did say that he and other guys he works with shoot them regularly and that they are pretty good paintballs for the money ($48 for a case of 2,000). They're small bore paintballs, so hopefully they'll work well with my medium bore barrel.

My brother said when he worked at Diablo they ran 24hrs a day making paintballs and there weren't many "stored" anywhere. they demand was so high the shelves seemed always bare. But the disturbing fact he told me was there was no change in the formula between brands? Differnt boxes would fly down the belt filled by the same balls??

Well, if that's true, then at least we'll be playing with fresh balls.

if it's just repackaged Diablo Hellfire and Inferno..i might want to call up 888 and buy some..cuz i mean if it's only 48 bucks a case for Hellfire/Inferno..that's really good..

heck i wouldnt even mind if they were inferno/blaze or blaze/midnight, from my impression about all diablo paintballs are good

Hmmmmm. In the ICC Tournament series and NAAPSA Nationals my team shot almost 100 cases of Diablo Inferno. Excluding 1 event the paint was flawless. I even complained that I didn't have any complaints about the paint! I personally like the Inferno better than the Hellfire. Blaze and Midnight aren't even an option either. At the NAAPSA Nationals Diablo released their new Inferno, Smurf Blue. This was by far the best paint from them yet.
I've not heard about the "Rec" paint line. I do know their Brand X was pretty crummy. They tried to compete with RP's Big Ball series. I'm concerned if they are mixing Hellfire and Inferno. Hellfire is a slightly larger bore and is more brittle than Inferno. I can see them doing this to get rid of any production overrun.

I was concerned about them mixing the different paints too, but the sales rep said that the cases are either Inferno or Hellfire, they don't mix them up in the case ... and there's no way to tell what color it is until you shoot it.

I was also worried it was repackaged Brand X cause I got a medium bore barrel. Now the guy I talked to did say that Inferno and Hellfire are both small bore paint ... that's got me a little worried cause it's gonna throw the accuracy off a bit.

hm...yeah...i guess it's good for me cuz all i really shoot is small bore..but yeah....it might throw the accracy off a bit..but still..that was a really good deal..hehe
