well i wasn't there, but he claims he shot his Pro/Carbine at 440fps and won't shut the hell up about it. Is it possible for a paintball gun to actually shoot that fast? or was it a glitch in the chronograph? Has anyone shot a ball that fast?
I would imagine a gun firing that fast would just destroy the bolt, but i dunno

damn, 440fps is like 300 mph. I dunno about that. I think the paintballs would shred at that speed and from the g forces that ball would experience.

Actually, balls don't break at that speed. My friend's cocker came form the factory shooting over 475fps, with no breaks. Mine came at 300fps, but i wanted to see if balls broke at high speed, so i turned my gun up to just over 500fps. (503 I think) and the balls didn't break.( we both had really good paint/barrel matches. we Have FREAKS) so yeah. Just thought I'd tell ya that

Yes it can happen. I was trying springs in my raptor and fired off some shots with one that was extremely stout. I couldn't even put it back together with the velocity up. I fired a couple at an empty area and the went straight out for about 300+ feet with a ton of curvage to both sides. I shot at a tree about 75-95 feet away and it hit it nearly immeadiatly after I pulled the trigger. I estimated it was shooting mid 400's to low 500's. ANd not one ball break. All with the stock 12" barrel.

fastest I ever had a gun was 600fps...it was my old automag...then I accidentally shot the face of my chronograph...so that kinda sucked

good god those are some high speeds. And no breaks huh? hehehe, I'm gonna go crank mine up, chrono it, and go shoot some miscelanious debris in this abandoned lot. (yeah it's far away from any houses.) See what a 300mph+ paintball can do.

Well My pro/carb shot @ 350 Psi without a break-- I never have broken a ball with it BUT About shooting accurately I seriously doubt it

Agreed. One of my friends used to have a mag that went crazy, and fired like 430. Wicked spin on the paintballs. Was innaccurate as all hell, but still fun.
You CAN shoot these things extremely fast. However, you sacrifice not only a lot of air to do this... but the accuracy from these types of high velocity shots are HORRIBLE.

A friend of mine was chrono'ed at 430 fps... so its not unlikely. blew some chips out of a wooden house but oh well...

i have had mine up to 550. balls break constantly around 575 from the G-Forces put on them from the acceleration. i used a prolite drive spring.....sounded like a cannon

my friend told me that he opened up all the valves on a angel and it shoots 900fps, but i don't think its possible.

900fps is bull **** but 440 is not that unrealistic ive shot my cocker at 409 an it was not turned all the way up.
