View Full Version : Anyone else hate the Bushy Trigger Frame

I have four guns and of all of them I hate the trigger frame on my Bushy the most. I even think the stock Spyder trigger or my Tippy Double trigger is better than the stock Bushy Trigger.

The stock Bushy's trigger pivot point seems to be too close to where you actually put your index finger so it takes way more force than necessary to fire rather than if the pivot point was further away and thereby creating a lever.

I've heard that the Sonic and the Ripper frames felt much better and make the Bushys feel more like other guns like the Angel.
I've soaked a ton of money into this thing and I'm going to have to spend more because I hate the way the trigger feels and adjusts.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which frames to get and reliable sources to get them from?

Thanx.

I have the Mac Dev sonic frame and i love it. I even installed one on my shocker. You can get them at www.macdev.net or www.g3pb.com. Heres a pic of it.

Personally i use the Ripper because i prefer a "blade" type trigger. The Ripper frame and the mac dev sonic will both change the feel of your bushy. It is one of the first upgrades i recommend.

How hard is it to switch out the frames ? im not real great at that kind of stuff, but im thinking of getting a new frame once i get my b2k2. Does the sonic come in silver/chrome/nickel ? IM thinking i might get the ripper because you can get it in silver

I'm not sure if you can get the Sonic in chrome. The ripper frame is chrome and it does look really nice. Instillation was pretty simple, it came with instructions so if you need them they are there. The hardest part was removing the two pressure pins that hold the micro-switch in the old frame. You need to use a flat tipped punch that is exactly the same size as the pin, and knock them out with a hammer. Other than that, instillation was a breeze. If you go to www.obdo.net under reviews there is info on both grips, including installation guides.

Good luck, you should be happy with either.

so, say i get the frame. I take it out of the box, put the board in, attatch it to the gun, and thats it ? plus the little steps of course ... (grips) .. do i have to do anything with the trigger ?

If its as easy as you guys say it is, im goin ripper all the way !

The trigger is already installed. You need to install the board (1 screw) attatch the wire harness (1 plug), and install the micro-switch (2 pins that come with the frame). After that you just need to adjust the trigger set screws to how you like them and reinstall the frame and tray to the body. The only really time consuming thing is getting the micro-switch out. If i had t do it again I would have bought a replacement micro-switch from Digi-Key for a few dollers and just left the old one in the stock grip. If you decide to do this the part numbers can be found on www.obdo.net

Wow Great Recommendations!

Thanks a bunch guys!
But, which one feels better? Do they feel the same?
I swear my stock bushy is giving me RSI in my forearms.

YO Canterbury that Bushy is PIMP! Now I get your signature!!!

On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you rate the benefit of an aftermarket trigger frame.

Uh, well as far as rating thats hard. I wouldnt reccomend it as your first upgrade, but it certainly makes the gun more comfortable.

I think it will be the most NOTICABLE thing on your bushmaster. I mean, its easier to feel the trigger than to see the balls fire more consistanly :P

It's a great upgrade, especially if you don't like the stock frame.

Has anyone tried both frames?

The sonic and the ripper?

Which one feels more like an Angel?

Just to be different I put a powerlyte frame on mine. I like it alot, really nice feeling. I've used angel frames on my shocker (my angel to duh) and I think the powerlyte frame is a nice compilement to the marker. If had to do it again though, I might get a ripper.

But I like to be different. The Powerlyte is really nice, very comfy and does make your set up a bit more compact. I must say, the quality of the powerlyte frame is Top Notch!

Powerlyte is a great company!

Also, how much is their frame?

i've tried the sonic and the ripper. it all comes down to if you like the blade or double trigger style.
i like mine better, even the guy who's ripper i used said he liked mine better.
but if you absolutely love the blade style trigger then go for the ripper.
the sonic feels like an angel w/ a stock trigger, a ripper feels like an angel w/ a stick trigger on it. simple as that :D

Thats the truth. I think they are identical cept which trigger they come with stock.

I can't recall the price of the powerlyte frame, it's on their site. Working a couple of ideas over with them to improve that frame. I do like it alot.
