Well, I have the option to get a used spyder compact. I know its in great condition becuase its my moms students gun. it comes in a package with
Compact 2000
JT Pro Thermal
VL200
gloves
3100roundtubes
20oz CO2
teardrop 12'
and more.. (i forget right now..)
I can get all this for $60 (american) or $80 in canadian
but my only concern is that ive heard the compact is pretty bad..everyone says "newbie" this and "beginner" that in every review for it!! If you could tell me why or why not to get it id be thankful because if i dont get this gun im getting a spyder xtra package (new)
one more thing, what are some really good upgrades for the compact?
thanks

Well, the spyder compact is an excellent starter marker. If you have money saved up there are better markers out there.
You said that you were going to get an xtra package. What is in that package? Cuz that might be worth saving up for if you have the time.

I have a Spyder Compact 2 in 1 Java and it's great. Great gun for a beginner like me.
As for upgrades:
Barrel, springs, bolt, expansion chamber or regulator, low pressure, drop forward, grips, trigger frame, electronic trigger... the list goes on forever lol.

The Xtra package has a JT thermal mask, 20oz CO2, VL200 and gloves
but it comes to 600 canadian

Im not sure how much that is in US dollars 5 hundred? If it is that seems kind of expensive. That package shoudl not run more than 400 US.

Sorry my bad. That wouldn't be a bad deal.
get it, ir's a great deal. The compact isn't nearly as bad as people say, it shoots just as well as any gun.
If you want a gun that people wont call a beging gun, it gonna run you $600

I'd go for the Compact because its such a great deal. If you find you don't like it you can just get a new gun cause it not like your spending that much on the it.

Compacts are great. You get more than you pay for. But, if you can afford a better gun, then get one. It's an awesome gun when you're low on cash, but there are better guns for a little more money (more upgrades, etc.).
