View Full Version : JT 5.0 or Rainmaker

Hey guys whats up? Just making a new purchase and I can't decide between the JT 5.0 and the Rainmaker. Vote and leave some info why. I plan to upgrade the crap out of it sometime after the purchase.

However, I would go with the rainmaker since you plan to upgrade. Upgrading the 5.0 or 6.0 wont be much fun since they come tricked from the factory.

The Rainmaker can be turned into a gun Angel owners are envious of. But it takes time and a lot of $$$$. If you're getting a HPA system, and have the technical know-how to take care of a Rainmaker, I'd take the Rainmaker anyday, especially at the $170 price tag I believe. The Rainmaker will NOT operate on Co2, and if it does, not very well. The Rainmaker is a "true" electro...though it's like a weird cocker as well. I'd go with the Rainmaker. The JT 5.0 is another open-bolt blowback, and has its limitations.

My Rainmaker works good with CO2 as long as it is about 60 degrees or so. It is very bad in cold though. (Big Shootdown), but i still love it.

i would get the 5.0 and a new reg and hpa system and if u want u can make it low pressure

The guy has two select-fire boards: 1 dipswitch/no LCD and 1 LCD/pushbutton one that you have to mount in the shroud.

I would go with the one that is more comfortable and will be more consistant unless you have a back-up. Personally I like the 5.0 better but that's just me which really ain't much considering i have a tippmann not a 5.0

If you are more interested in fast shooting and accurqacy, get teh JT. If you are the kind of player that gives a lot of cover fire to the running around people, then I would have to say the rainmaker. But I am the kind of player that does most of the running around so the 5.0 gets my vote.
