Ok I have a remote line and it didnt come with instructions so here goes:
1. Are you supposed to hook it into the marker then tank or vica versa.
2. What are slide checks, quick disconnects, and bleeds? I know it's good to have slide check and QD's but wtf is a bleed?
3. Lastly - the piece that goes on the tank where is it supposed to be ( screwed out or in?) to have the CO2 running and is it an on/off valve?
And don't say i'm dumb I am just new to Remotes and am still learning (I don't want to f anything up).

Ok.
Once you screw the tank into the remote asa.(before you turn on the on/off.
plug the femal quick disconect into the male QD on the gun, the turn of the on/of.
the slide check cuts of the air to the gun, then u can unplug the remote from the gun without haveing to turn f the tank

Doesnt matter which first. Just make sure that b4 u put it on the tank, the knob is UNSCREWED all the way(TANK ON OFF). That way, it wont go whipping you in the face with co2 flying all over the place. Then once u have it securely on both ends, just turn the knob (TANK ON/OFF)in until the gas charges the hose/gun. The slide check is on the part that goes in your gun. If you have your rig gassed down, i.e. have unscrewed the knob on you tank-end remote line(TANK ON OFF), and have dry-fired your gun until there is no gas left in the line, you can pull away from you gun on the knurled connector GUN-end line. It will disconnect from you gun. Easier to lay your gun down and relieve yourself in the facilities without your gun fastened to your back via hose! Here is a pic for help

The bleed hole is just a tiny hole drilled in the tank on off end. It just makes sure that there is a place for excess co2 to vent if there is any left in the line when unscrewing it from your tank. I usally dry fire and re-cock my gun once I have turned off the air on the tank 5 or 6 times to be sure that none is left and freezes the o-ring on my tank b4 I take it off the tank. I actually have a vest that holds 10 tubes and 2 20oz tanks. I play some games with 2 remote lines. One on each tank on my back, and when one is out, I just pull the other line around and hook it up via slide check and keep on rockin.
okay thats like my remote. unscrew the blue thingy but not all the way so that it comes off. screw the thing that screws onto the tank onto it. u unscrewed the blue thingy (but not all the way off remember) so that when u screwed it onto ur co2 tank all the air wouldnt come out. okay now screw the thing that goes into ur gun onto it, then connect the QD to it. screw the blue thingy tighter and it should release the air into the gun. the coiled remote will expand because of the air, so rotate ur guns several times clockwise or counter clockwise, depends, so that the coils dont curl up on themselves. now that the air is on, u cant undo the QD, u have to turn off the tank (by unscrweing the blue thingy. while unscrweing the blue thingy, when u start to hear a hiss from the bleed hole dry fire ur gun a few times (like 10) so that all the excess air thats inside the gun and the coil is let out. hope that was vague enough to not help :)

The part all the way to the left in the photo is the quick disconnect; the part just to it's right is the slide check. It allows you to disconnect your gun without reaching behind your back and shutting down the whole thing. Actually quite handy.
Just make sure that thing is always forward (closer to the gun) when ready to play, otherwise, you'll get two or three shots, then phhhffft, dry.

When it's gassed up, you might not be able to overcome the force generated by unregulated CO2. On my buddy's gun, one of us would hold the grip, and he'd yank the fitting back. Scary.

that part that you mentioned was not a quick disconnect, that was a slide check. that bleeds the air out of the remote like after you turn the on/off valve off.

my friend used to use one on his 4+1, but his pack always sagged and it made him look like the pack was too big. he doesnt use the remote because it was too much trouble (his exact words)
