Funny all the threads I start are in caps. Maybe ebacuse I only start threads when I'm seriously excited about something. This is that something

that thing is ugly.

i saw that on warpig the other day. i dont know about it, they dont show any testing on their review of it, and the important thing is proformance right. the other thing that bothers me is that it uses 6 AA batteries. WHY? i would think one nive volt would give them the power they needed 1*9v=9v , 6*1.5v=9v. maybe they had their reasons but i think it was a dumb move. its heavier than it needes to be. and it is pretty darn fuggly.

but 16 bps feed rate, thats pretty fast. i kinda like the design of it, i just couldn't imagine the weight though.

Here's what I find funny:

"According to Christopher, HALO prototypes have been able to feed over 30 balls per second."

"The basic production HALO is planned to feed at about 16 balls per second."

"Optional software and bearing kit upgrades will be later available to allow increased loading speeds."

Don't you just love it when companies have the technology to produce a FAR more superior loader. Instead they put out a loader that can feed 1 ball faster than the Revolution but have optional software to allow it to feed faster. :) Unfortunetly that's the way business works.

Well in all reality if you know power calculation they did this so the bateries would last long although a 9volt supplies the same juice in volt the 6AA give a higher amperage which results in better battery life... in other words their loader chewed batteries like no tomorrow and tried to compensate.

i dont know about this thing. i admit it would be sweet to have a loader going at that speed, but would i be able to keep up with at pulling the trigger. its gonna be haevy, and probably really expensive. and if i goes any faster, isnt there a threat of it breaking balls as it feeds them in. something has got to feed them, and that somehting moving really fast and coliding with a ball could result in breaks. this things seem iffy.

Yeah, everything except the whole 6 AA battery thing seems sweet. If you can upgrade that thing to 30 bps, it's worth it!

well, i dont know, the 6 AA batteries might be an improvement. i use AA batteries all the time, and i have all over my house. however, i would have to go out and buy a 9 volt specifically for that.and i fanybody knows, which would be cheaper?

IT is my opinion that direct hit paint is the best paint for the money..s0 ill use that fro an example...

it costs me 50 for 2000 after shipping added in, or 75 for 3000. 30 balls a second is 1/100 of that, or 75 cents a second. in one hour lets say you make 10 dollars (really good for many pballers). it takes me 6 minutes to make one dollar. in one second you can go through as much paint as it would take you about 3,000 seconds to make. i know you wouldnt shoot this fast constantly...but some food for thought for a ll you speed shooter.

also, cana bolt move backand forth 30 times a second? no way

I bet its heavy as hell i am to impatiant to read the article oh well. ... i might get it if it doesn't cost a butt load of money.

Bolts can move much faster than a mere 30... Much much faster. Getting the bolt to move fast isnt the problem. The problem is getting these delicate little spheres into the chamber with out damaging them. For seriously faster shooting you will need to develop a feed system that will allow you to do that before you can worry about the bolts cyclic speed.

This hopper looks pretty good. Yeah, its fugly. But apparently it works. I have not purchased a power hopper as of yet because they really dont do all that much for me as I dont shoot all that fast. However yesterday I was doing a lot of shaking... Never had to do that before. So I guess my shooting speed is picking up. Anyways - I am now looking at getting a powered hopper. The 12V Revvy is classic... I like them. But I'ld like to get something newer and different. The Eggolution is a joke. I won't even touch one of those. There is that one Star Trek looking hopper and I freaking hate Star Trek... so this thing looks like a good option. The problem is waiting for it to come out!

Oh I aint arguing or anything, I know an RT can do 24 cycles per second, and the limiting factor was the valve, not the bolt, so I'm just geussing that the bolt on the average electro could do 30.

i saw that on warpig, too... it looks nice... im wondering will there be an intellifeed kit for the halo loader on my angel...

It kinda looks like a t-rex head... I dont know about that disk spinning inside. There is a picture with the paintballs flying around. YOu players think that pbs will break in there?... looks like it could happen... Also when the thing starts to get empty, with balls flying aroud like that will it get less efficient?

Not sure... Guess we will see when we get it.

I'll stick with my egg. I like the shape, I've been waiting for the egg since I started playing. I love being able to play football with my hopper when my batteries run out. Oh and I don't think the halo is any uglier than the ricoche or whatever. You know, the battlestar galactica hopper!

why would it be heavy? I've never heard anyone say "Damn my hoppers heavy" and i dont think its gonna start. its still mostly platic. I dont think its gonna get a good response though, view loader has basically captured the hopper industry, the Richochet 2k is going to go well and neither will this. Anyway HALO is a pretty stupid name but i get it with angel and halo on top, its cute... ... ...
