i think 12 is the perfect size. 14 is ok, but i wouldn't get it..i used to think 14 was the best, but i like 12 better now

yeah i think that 12 is the best length also. I have a 12 inch Carbon Fiber on my shutter and it works awesome.

12" IS the way to go. I bought a 16" AA barrel for my cocker and ended up banging it on everything from bunkers to my aunt's big toe, don't ask. Lotta pros say there's not much of a diff. in performance between 12" & 16" barrels, this is usually their opinion though.

i think 12" is great, i think if i had anything more it would be too long, but i haven tried anything past 12" so i dunno...

there is no difference in a 12" or a 14" barrel... i have a friend who swears by 14" is the best size... because 12" is good for front player... and a 14" is good for all around players... honestly....
there is no difference... the paintball will hit maximum velocity at 4" - everything else is bread and butter - i would say 10" or even 8", but it is all mostly preference...

12-14 is optimal for general use

I think anything over a 14 is too long. I have a 16" and it irritates me

I thought it might of been drop forward, but since we were talking about barrel length. I didn't know for sure .
Was it supposed to mean drop forward Trauma?

I can beat that...i got a 6 in. barrel...NO NOT THAT..dirty minds...:D
I got my stock Spyder barrel, cut it in half, ported the bottom half, and polished the inside..perfect front speedball barrel

A 6in. barrel?
Awesome. was it real rough were you cut it. When you ported it didn't it make the inside of the barrel rough where the hole broke through?
THat sounds really cool. You got a pic of it on you'r gun?
Thanks,

A 12" and a 14" are not really 2 inches differnt but more like 1 1/2 inchs differnt.

i have a 14 jj ceramic and it works great. but i think that it depends on the barrel design because i used me friends 14 terminator and the balls kept curving. which isnt bad when someone is hiding behind a tree. i shot my friend like that 3 times.

Well I was a longtime shooter/hunter before i got into paintball so i have no problems with long barrels. In fact i would like to see a 26" for woods or scenerio games, however, for speedball i do like a shorter barrel. I solved my problems with my nreak barrel just bought a new front so now i have a 16 and a 10. It has worked well for me before the freak i had the 32 degrees term in 10,thru 16.

You realize a 26" barrel would do little but cause the more experienced players to point and laugh? ATS makes a 26" barrel, but only because they put it on a military training gun.
If I had my druthers, I would get a Minimag, keep the 8" barrel from that, and then get a Freak kit with 10" and 12" fronts. I doubt I would be doing much playing with the 12" though, there really is just a tiny accuracy difference between 10" and 12".
