Hello, I've heard many stories about the newbs being spoiled w/ angels, cockers, etc.... but a couple of days ago, my brother's friend, who is 14 just got a DYE Autococker, centerflag reg, 68-4500 nitro tank and a lot of gear just because he is graduating from middle school! I mean, yes, I am jealous of him, but then again, I just think he is spoiled and doesn't deserve over a thousand dollars in gear. He has been playing for about 3 years w/ a Spyder Special Edition (no upgrades at all) and his dad decides to buy him all this expensive stuff that experienced players would get even when most people work their way to get a simple lower to mid end gun. Now would you consider him spoiled? I would.

thats a tough one. if he made all A's, then maybe not, because hard work DOES pay off in the end.

I would consider it spoiled. Even if he did pull straight a's. Ive been getting straight a's all my life, and this year my parents finally decide to do something about. they say I can get one thing on them. I picked a pair of JT chameleons for 89$. Their reply, "Gee, can you tone it down a little?".... So yes, I would consider him spoiled. Spoiled and lucky.

not that i condone that type of cash spending for graduating middle school but.....put yourself in the parents shoes, their sweet little presious baby just passed 8th grade, awww. and they wanna give little baby the best gear they can, awww how sweet.so they go and blow all that cash on him, aww how sweet<sarcasm> just forget it man, parents do that with everything. when its his turn to get his lisence, guess who gets a new mustang or somethin like that? when it his turn to go to college, guess who pays for it all? its just the way life is, so dont worry about it, and go bunker him

LOL! Anyways, yes, I get straight A's to, and my parents do treat me well by getting me something small.. maybe like a drop forward or somethin, but not a 1000 dollars worth of stuff! Oh well, I guess I will bunker his *** and tell him his DYE Cocker won't compete with me! j/k... but i will bunker him... : )

middle school? he got a gift for doing two lousy years. thats more of a high school gift, not a fricking middle school gift. i mean, i think anyone that goes through those two years without killing someone deserves a gift, but not 1k worth of gear.

like i should talk though....im gettin my share of free gear soon ne way....
yeah but my parents would neva do that 4 me....also in 4 yrs post on wat he gets 4 his high school gift and then college....by that time his parents will give him a small island lol

I don't get A's, if he worked is *** off for grad then in a matter of speaking yes and no. If I got all A's this year, would you consider me spoiled if I was a B average? Keep in mind I worked all year for it.

Well he has been playing 3 years so maybe it was time for him to get a new one. But it is also overkill that he gets over $1K worth of stuff. But remember, some kids get cars for their birthday or graduation. If my parents bought me that, I would keep it. Or maybe sell it for a RAT;)

I don't get money for getting good grades. My parents expect it of me and I expect it of me to do good in school. We are in school to help us succeed and get a good education, not to get money for every A that shows up on our report card. Sure I would take the money if my parents gave it to me but I still do pretty good in school (3.8 gpa) without the money motivation. I, too, am in the accelerated classes, like locust. Okay, enough ranting.

Why does everyone think this kid is spoiled. Maybe he had to work hard to get his good grades and such. Maybe he just deserved it. Just because he gets a nice gun do you have to be jealous? Sure if he was bragging about it he should be bunkered by 8 people at once, but why fret about it. If he is good enough to deserve it, be glad for him.

You don't get good grades for them, you get it for you. Having good grades now help you later in life. More Qualifications

Jeffo: IMHO that kid is a spoiled bas.tard who needs to be taken out into the streets and ran over numerous times. Whats so special about middle school? I bet most homeless and drug addicts are at least middle school grad.... highschool/college is where you grow up. If he were graduating from highschool and got into, say, Stanford, oh, maybe. (but if he's smart enough to get into stanford, he BETTER get a job and start earning $$$ REAL soon) But graduating 8th grade simply isn't hard/special/worthy of $1000 worth of toys. Its not my place to say that parents shouldn't award kids for good grades, hell, I wish mine did, but giving a 14 year old that kind of equipment sends a message that you don't need to earn your money.

Me: "Dad, I just got a 5 on my AP bio exam. And a 4 on my AP am hist."
Dad: "That's nice."

^^^
Grades don't mean a thing, whether he received all As or Ds...

He's not spoiled necessarily, maybe, just ONCE in his life, he gets a huge break. Calling someone spoiled is just an angry jealousy. He's lucky, just give him a break. [It's easy for me to say this, I know I wouldn't.]

Think of it this way: It could be worse.

One of my friends has a 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible. One of my friends has two horses. One gets to go to college where-ever she so pleases. One friend is out of the country vacationing one month of the year. I knew a kid who received a 2001 Porche 911 for graduation last year.

Put it in perspective: One day, he will be working for you, and you can deduct that Cocker from his pay until you feel no more bitterness.

Some parents spoil their kids. Others don't.
Some kids get spoiled and deserve it. Others get spoiled and don't deserve it.
Some can afford to spoil their kids. Others can't and do it anyway.

That's all it is people. Why they do it I don't know. Just when you have kids don't spoil them. :)

It really depends on the situation...

I just sold a lot of my paintball inventory and other things to get my little bro a new PS2 setup with a ton of games and accessories, totaling about $1100, cause he's wanted one for a long time.
All his friends say that he's spoiled and lucky because someone "gave" him the stuff. What they don't realize is that a lot of times, to bless somebody and try to give them a break, people make big sacrifices. That doesn't make people spoiled or undeserving - it just means that there was someone who cared about them enough to make that kind of sacrifice. Other people make different sacrifices.

On the other hand, when I used to play indoor soccer for the state/regional team, I knew a girl who's mom was a big-head executive for Progressive Insurance. This girl had a bad attitude, terrible grades, a foul mouth, and a police record for theft and underage drinking/drugs, etc.... She couldn't play soccer, either.
Anyway, she got a white Lamborghini Countach for her 18th.

That, I think we can all agree, is spoiled.

You poor guys...

You are actually wasting your time and energy being jealous of some guy rather than being better than him.

Once you are out in the world you can whine about who you are, where you live, what you drive, and how unfair it all is...or you can go out, kick maximum azz, earn everthing you have, and be a better person than the next guy.

The choice is all yours...
