Hey, i was wondering if the javelin barrel is anygood? Iam getting a Excalibur and i want to know if i should replace the stock barrel or not.. From what i hear, people say the Javelin barrel is more accurate than the Boomstick? that true? Also, waht do you think of the Javelin Barrel?

the javelin is just as good as any other high end barrel, you wont have to replace it but you should have, sevral different bore size barrels/or kit in addition to ,and depending on the bore size of the javelin you get

just like i said before, there isn much difference in the high end barrel's,J&J,DYE,JT,CP etc. it just depend's on your paint to barrel match

i think the jav is a bit louder but accuret but if your excla is anodized best to keep the jav because it matches the gun
vikings are the best they are

Well besides a few anos the freak matches to most guns preety well IMO. If you get any barrel though i'd say freak.

The problem w/ switching from a javelin to another barrel is efficiency. Bore-match will help this, but all other barrel use a hell of a lot more porting. This is good for some things, but you lose consistency. The only barrels i would put on a viking other than the jav. are the cp kit (less porting than say a boomstick) or a lapco (also less porting than most). BUT it doesn't do a whole of harm if you use a freak or something. Just a little. And considering that you already get what? 1400 shots out of a 68/4500, it may not matter to you. But there's my two cents.

the viking /excal will pull 1800-2000 off a 68/4500,the efficiency
lost from switching to a more heavily ported barrel is extremely minimal
the javelin is a excelent barrel either way

splatter punx is right about MINIMAL efficiency loss. He's also right about the javelin being a NICE barrel. It's just as high quality as everything else AKA makes. The only reason to get a different barrel would be to get something a little larger bore, alowing you to shoot a wider variety of paint. Even then, i would probably call aka and see if they'd make me a .688 or .689 bore javelin. It's for the look and the AKA consistency.

Why don't you wait for the Excaliber to arrive and test the barrel out for yourself and determine personal preferances.
