here is what i read:

To run on compressed air, this gun requires an on-off valve bottle or smart bottle. To run on C02, it requires on/off C02 tank and anti-syphon.

I have a pmi 48ci 3000psi tank. It doesnt have a on-off valve. Will i need a on/of valve or not?
There any tricks for this like maybe putting a oring in the asa?

the oring in the ASA is what most of us do here. Just pop it in and screw in your tank. I prefer barrel plug orings

Wont using HPA w/o an on/off on the screw in Maxy, stress the manifold over time?
